A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Blissful Blooms

Welcome to our August 2018 #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Our kit this month is called Blissful Blooms. It came with supplies to make 10 standard-sized cards, 5 each of 2 designs, with coordinating silver-edged envelopes included for each card. This kit is just FABULOUS, it's so beautiful, and so SIMPLE to put together. Here are my alternates for this month:

If you've seen very many of my Paper Pumpkin alternates, you know I try to stick pretty closely to the kit contents. This month I added a few more things than I might normally. I added Flirty Flamingo Cardstock & ink, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock & ink, and on the card I also added a little bit of Old Olive ink.

Oh yeah, let me tell you about a trick I used to make the Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock look like the precut die label shapes. I took my 1/2" Circle Punch and tucked each corner of the layer into it, and punched it off. Super easy.

Below is a pouch I made from one of the envelopes. I did a little stamping on it, and wrapped some twine around the bottom. The flap of the envelope actually tucks in behind the greeting panel...I moved the Stampin' Dimensionals out to the edges on the back, so there's a nice pocket in the middle.

You can see below how the bottom of the envelope pouch has some depth to it, but the flap of the envelope is folded down flat. I'm seriously not sure what would fit in there, but I'm sure some nice jewelry would fit. Who wouldn't LOVE more sparkle in their life??

And, because that twine at the bottom doesn't need to be removed to open the pouch, I just tied it in a square knot. That really takes the pressure off from making a perfect-looking bow!

  1. Kimberly ~ great tip for the label layer! And your pouch is a terrific way to upscale an envelope.
