Global Stamping Friends Extraordinary Anniversary Blog Hop

Welcome to the August 2019 EXTRAORDINARY Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, celebrating our 3rd Anniversary! You'll see projects from around the world--but I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, but this is an extra hop that is out of the ordinary - hence, it is an EXTRAordinary hop! My project today features the Nine Lives stamp set, and coordinating Cat Punch. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post!}

Yes, yet again I am featuring cats on my blog. I promise I'll stamp with something else soon! But if you have a cat-loving spouse, this would make the purr-fect anniversary card. Lol, maybe throw in a ball of yarn and some heart-shaped catnip toys, too! Hahaha...

The kitty was stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and colored with Stampin' Blends (our alcohol markers). All the colors I used are listed in the Stampin' Supplies below, and there are purchase links with the pictures for each item below the blog roll. One little feature that may be hard to see in the kitty's coloring is the coordinating Balmy Blue Light Stampin' Blends Marker I used on the eyes.

The little hearts on the card are from the ball of yarn image in the stamp set. I also stamped those with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and colored the centers with the Flirty Flamingo Light Stampin' Blends Marker. Then I went over each of the hearts with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitterbrush to give them some shimmer.

And finally, the "ground" element is Crumb Cake Cardstock. I crumpled it until two layers of cardstock became evident, then I pulled the layers apart carefully. Then, I adhered one layer to the card, making sure the inner, soft side of the paper was showing. It has the appearance of sand, or even a low-pile carpet.

Stampin' Supplies: Nine Lives stamp set,  Whisper White Cardstock, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Balmy Blue Cardstock & Ink Pad, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Stampin' Blends Markers (Basic Black Light, Balmy Blue Light - optional for eyes, Smoky Slate Combo Pack, Gray Granite Combo Pack, Flirty Flamingo Light, Color Lifter), Clear Wink of Stella Glitterbrush, Cat Punch, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Simply Shammy (to clean photopolymer stamps), Grid Paper. And don't forget Whisper White Medium Envelopes for mailing your cards!

Third Thursdays Blog Hop: Keepin' the Memories Alive

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is Keepin' the Memories Alive! Posts will feature Stampin' Up! products or projects used for memory keeping. I ordered the Pressed Petals Journal to play with!
{you'll find Product Purchase Links for current items I've used, below the Blog Roll}

I actually ordered 2 of the Pressed Petals Journals, because the pages are perforated...I wanted one journal to use with the pages left in the binding, and one I could tear out all the pages from to use individually. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to read the description, so I didn't realize that: A) these journals are a lot smaller than I imagined, and B) the designs repeat throughout the journal, and C) there are not even enough facing page "layouts" to journal for a whole month.

So, I went to work figuring out how I might alter the journal, to use it as a gratitude journal for one whole month, by adding pages. For this blog post, I'll just show you how I added the pages. I want to decorate the added pages a little bit, but I want to order the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper first, so I'll have to come back to that part later. I actually thought I had also ordered the Stitched Labels Dies to decorate the cover, but I accidentally ordered another set of stitched dies that I already have. Ugh.

Anyway...I hopped onto my Facebook Page to do a LIVE demo of this tutorial, but it wouldn't upload the HD version, so I have added the HD version to YouTube. You can click below to watch the embedded version, or you can go watch it on YouTube at THIS LINK.

Stampin' Supplies: Pressed Petals Journal, THICK Very Vanilla Cardstock, Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stitched Labels Dies, Stampin' Trimmer (for cutting & scoring), ARC by Staples Hole Punch (optional).

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Trees & Woods

Welcome to the August 2019 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring TREES & WOODS! You'll see projects from around the world--but I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month. For this hop, I chose to feature the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post!}

I think the theme of Trees & Woods probably meant "woods" as in, a forest. But, for my project...I am just going with "wood" as in, a piece of wood. My stamp room is still nearly as disastrous today as it was yesterday, so once again I am also using my Cat Punch, as it is sitting here within arm's length!

This card is a great choice for a dude who loves cats, as it is decidedly less "girly" than the cat card I posted yesterday! Although, you'll want to be sure the dude you send it to doesn't mind being called FABULOUS! And, I guess the Faceted Dots might add a little more feminine sparkle than a dude might enjoy...but you could always substitute some of these metallic goodies instead: Designer Elements.

I actually fashioned this card after a birthday card I made like 3 years ago, but I don't think I ever posted that one on my blog! I managed to find a picture of it, along with a couple of other cards we made at the same class...it's the card below with the foxes on it.

The Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder was unavailable to order for a while, as Stampin' Up! is transitioning to a direct-from-manufacturer relationship for our die cutting and embossing folder machine and supplies. But this folder is now available in Stampin' Up!'s new style, and you will get even better results with it, by using the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate in your machine "sandwich". (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out the video below or click here to watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/u2EzO8wHKto)

Stampin' Supplies: Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, Pretty Peacock Cardstock and Ink Pad, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock, Soft Suede Ink Pad (applied to embossed planks with Stampin' Sponge), Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder (used with a die cutting machine and the 3D Embossing Folder Plate), Cat Punch, 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist (for cleaning red rubber stamps), Grid Paper. And don't forget Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes for mailing your cards!
