Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Windows

Welcome to the JUNE 2021 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Windows. I am featuring the NEW Party Puffins stamp set in my project today. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

To make the window in my simple project, I used the Everyday Label Punch. Then I took the piece I punched out, and used it on the front of the card. I used Sponge Daubers to highlight the both the positive and negative images of the punch, using the Highland Heather Ink Pad. I stamped the puffins with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad, and to make the little fishies lighter, I stamped the image OFF once after inking, and before stamping on the card front.

You can see the greeting on the inside, with a couple more images from the stamp set, carrying over the same color combo. I cut a very small notch in the fold of my card to thread the Fresh Freesia Sheer Ribbon through, so I could tie it in a bow at the front.

Stampin' Supplies: Party Puffins cling stamp set, Coastal Cabana Ink Pad, Highland Heather Ink Pad, Thick Basic White Cardstock, Fresh Freesia Sheer Ribbon, 2021-2023 In Color Rhinestones, Everyday Label Punch, Sponge Daubers, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Grid Paper, Paper Trimmer (if you need to cut down your cardstock sheets), Simply Shammy (to clean photopolymer stamps). {see Product Purchase Links near the bottom of the post}

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Batter Up

Welcome to our MAY 2021 #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Each month we share alternate projects using Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin Kit! We usually hop on the last Thursday of the month, but snail mail is living up to its name and then some, so we waited an extra week to allow more folks to get their kits and create with them.

  My alternate project this month is a card and a bookmark. I usually try to stick close to the kit contents when making my alternates, but this time I had an idea and wanted to go with it. I used Thick Basic White Cardstock, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, a Bone Folder and the Paper Trimmer, which are basic supplies, but also added several more supplies.
{you'll find product purchase links beneath the Blog Roll, near the bottom of the post}

Our Paper Pumpkin kit for May was called Batter Up. It came with supplies to create 9 full-sized cards, 3 each of 3 different designs. Above is a picture of how the projects would look if you make them according to the kit directions. I'm not really a baseball fan, so I decided to use one of the backgrounds as sunrays, and a bit of an envelope liner as water.

I used our Blending Brushes with the Pale Papaya Ink Pad to add the yellow to the sun rays. Then I turned one of the die-cut baseballs over and used the Blending Brushes with the Pale Papaya Ink Pad again, and then used the Polished Pink Ink Pad to blend into that, to create the sun. I colored it as the whole ball, then cut it and only used half on the card. I used the brushes and those same two inks on a bit of Vellum Cardstock that I cut out by hand, using the baseball as a guideline for the shape. I then brushed Multipurpose Liquid Glue evenly over the back of the vellum piece and adhered it under the sun, as a reflection. I used the fat stylus tip on the Take Your Pick Tool, up against the straight edge of my Clear Block, to mark horizontal lines across the vellum...lined up with the stripes. It's very subtle, but I think it helps add to idea of a reflection. The blue striped piece of an envelope liner was colored with the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad, also using the Blender Brushes.

The greeting of the card was stamped with the Pacific Point Ink Pad onto Thick Basic White Cardstock, and was also brushed with color from the Coastal Cabana Ink Pad. The 'friend' sentiment is another stamp from the kit, which was stamped with the Night of Navy Ink Pad (using the Stampin' Spot that came in the kit), and then the whole greeting was cut out by hand using Paper Snips. The bookmark is the other side of the sunray background that was left over, and the sun is the other half of the back of the baseball die-cut that I used on the card. I added a couple of the little resin dots that came in the Paper Pumpkin kit, to the card, and to the bookmark. I also used 12" of the white twine that came with the kit, to add a little tassel (of sorts) to the bookmark.

Stampin' Supplies: May 2021 Batter Up Paper Pumpkin Kit, Night of Navy Ink Pad (ink spot is included in the kit), Pale Papaya Ink Pad, Polished Pink Ink Pad, Coastal Cabana Ink Pad, Pacific Point Ink Pad, Thick Basic White Cardstock, Vellum Cardstock, Blending Brushes, Stampin' Dimensionals (included in kit), Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, Take Your Pick Tool, Bone Folder (optional), Paper Snips, Simply Shammy (to clean photopolymer stamps), Grid Paper, Paper Trimmer.

We Create Blog Hop - Relationship Celebrations

Welcome to the MAY 2021 "Relationship Celebrations" Blog Hop!!! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month the focus of our projects will be anything to do with relationships. I chose to feature our NEW No Matter the Weather Kit for this post. If you are a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber, this kit may look familiar to you if you took delivery of a kit in March 2020.
{scroll to the bottom of this post for ALL product purchase links}

The NEW Stampin' Up! Kits Collection No Matter the Weather Kit offers the same Stampin' Spot in Basic Gray ink, the same kit stamp set, and all the same kit consumables as its Paper Pumpkin namesake...however, you will not get the Bonus Free stamp set that subscribers received that month.

ALL of the new kits are all-inclusive kits, and have everything you'll need for assembly of the projects in the box (except scissors for cutting ribbon or twine). I do want to point out that there are TWO categories of kits currently listed in the NEW Stampin' Up! Kits Collection:
  Card Kits which include directions and supplies to make cards only, and
Crafting Kits which include directions and supplies to make cards plus a project such as a box, or they could be wholly comprised of non-card projects such as treat packaging. The No Matter the Weather Kit is a Card Kit, so the instructions will only show you how to create 3 each of 3 card designs as shown above. Please note that ALL cards in all kits will also have included coordinating envelopes.

Pictured above are the contents of the No Matter the Weather Kit you can order now, anytime, as a retail product. Please note that there are some kits which include a stamp set and ink, such as this one, while other kits instead include all pre-preprinted sentiments from which you may choose. When a kit includes a stamp set, it will also include an exclusive Kit Clear Block which has the same surface dimensions as the retail Clear Block D, but which was produced at a different thickness so as not to add so much shipping weight to the kits. The ONLY thing you might need to grab from around the house to finish the cards in the No Matter the Weather Kit, is a pair of scissors. I prefer our Paper Snips.

FB LIVESTREAM WILL POST HERE

The NEW Kits Collection kits also have all new instruction sheets which are included in hard copy with each kit, AND which may be downloaded as PDFs. The directions lay out everything very simply, and are full color! I will be demonstrating the assembly of the No Matter the Weather Kit on My Facebook Page LIVE shortly using these No Matter the Weather Kit PDF Instructions. Once that video is complete, I will upload it above, so you can walk through all the steps with me whenever you get your kit!

Stampin' Up! CEO Sara Douglass has created a very quick video showing how she likes to assemble this kit (this is the video embedded above, if you are receiving this blog post via email, you will want to click on the title of the blog post to view it in your browser in order to play the videos). There are also a couple more videos from Stampin' Up! that help you learn How to Stamp, and how to use the Adhesives & Embellishments that come in the kits. I will line these all up for you below. But if you want to get an extended version with all my tips and tricks during the assembly, explaining the advantages of different techniques or approaches, so you can avoid feeling like you might make a mistake...wait for me to post the livestream from My Facebook Page.

Browse our NEW Kits Collection today, and get your own "class" shipped to your door! Let me know in the comments what your favorite class is, so I can do my assembly walkthrough videos for the most popular kits first. HINT: Because this kit was previously delivered as a Paper Pumpkin subscription kit, you will find all sorts of alternate ideas online if you search the internet, or even just Pinterest, for "No Matter the Weather March 2020 Paper Pumpkin" which you can create if you are an intermediate or advanced stamper, with your own additional supplies!
