Global Stamping Friends Extraordinary Blog Hop - Halloween

Welcome to the October 2018 Extraordinary Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring HALLOWEEN! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, but some of us just LOVE Halloween and wanted to do an extra hop this month. My project features coordinating products from the Spooky Sweets Bundle.
(see specific Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)

I used the Spooky Sweets Stamp Set, with the coordinating Spooky Bats Punch, plus some additional coordinating product from the Toil & Trouble Suite to create a little treat coffin...which holds 4 Hershey Nuggets! Please excuse the lack of detailed pictures, my camera died on me - so apropos for a post with a coffin project, eh??

To start with, I took a strip of 3-1/2" x 1" Highland Heather Cardstock, and ran some SNAIL Adhesive down it. Then I lined up 4 Hershey Nuggets, centered down that strip on top of the adhesive. This was to hold them in place while I wrapped a 3-1/2" x 4" piece of Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper around all 4 Nuggets at the same time. I adhered that wrap to itself with more SNAIL Adhesive. This way, the little block of Nuggets can actually slide right out, while leaving the rest of the project intact.

I found that I had an old pattern for a layered coffin lid that was the *perfect* size for this project! The base layer is in Basic Gray Cardstock, and the upper layer is Highland Heather Cardstock that I ran through the Big Shot, using the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder. The greeting and bats are from the Spooky Sweets stamp set, and the bats were punched out with the Spooky Bats Punch. I added a strip of the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, along with a strip of Gorgeous Grape 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.

from THIS POST

A FINAL NOTE: When I adhered the coffin lid to the wrapped Nuggets, I decided I liked the Nuggets angling down, so the flat side of the Nuggets would be flush against the back of the coffin lid. The only problem with this is the word 'nuggets' is showing on the ends of the chocolate wrappers, and it is upside-down! If this bothers you as much as it bothered me, you might like to use the Classic Label Punch to cover the word, like I did.

UPDATE: If you are the type of crafter who does better with a video demonstration, I did a Livestream of this project...you can find it on My Facebook Page, HERE.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Card Sets

Welcome to the October 2018 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring Card Sets! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and the theme for this month is to create Card Sets. My project features coordinating products from the Share What You Love Suite.
(see specific Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)

I used the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, and some coordinating cardstock to create a set of 4 cards (plus envelopes) and a holder. The stationery box is pretty straightforward, just some trimming and folding, and then I used Tear & Tape Adhesive in just a couple of places to adhere the edges.

Download the Pattern and Instructions for my Stationery Box
from THIS POST

When I make my stationery box, I like to orient it so the 3-1/2" flap folds over the top. That way it goes down just a wee bit lower, and my ribbon or twine can go a little lower than center. You don't have to untie this twine to get into the box, the flap will just slide out...then slide back under the twine again to close it.

All the die cut tags/labels you see on the cards are from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, as well as the little metal rose embellishments, the tiny paper clips, and both the striped and the pearlized white twine.

For this one with the leafy background, I tied the twine/string in a knot instead of a bow. I think it leaves the card a little more masculine, for those times you want to tell a manly man how amazing he is!

I was originally going to do ALL the cards on Crumb Cake Cardstock bases, but the flowery paper pattern already had a Crumb Cake background. I wanted the layers to stand out a little more, so that's when I decided to add the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock to the mix.

Then I just went ahead and used the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock behind the greeting layer on this card, too. If you'll notice, several of the cards have rounded corners. The stationery box also has rounded corners, even on the corners inside. The Detailed Trio Punch is perfect for this! But, you can also leave all the edges straight if you're looking to conserve on your supplies.

Stampin' Supplies: All Things Thanks stamp set (available in either wood-mount or cling-mount...I used the cling mount and cut apart the pieces of phrases I wanted to use separately or space out), Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, Detailed Trio Punch, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer (for cutting & scoring). (see Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)

Tic Tac® Howl-o-ween Creeps

Just a quick post to share a little Halloween treat project. These are Tic Tac containers in little boxes, decorated with the Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set. I limited myself just to the images in the stamp set. The top has to open up so the recipient can open the Tic Tac container, so the Frankenstein and Witch images are adhered to the flap, then they secure the box closed with a little Velcro dot underneath. The ribbon, greeting, and the peekaboo hole in the back are all just little extras...you could easily leave those off to create these in bulk, but they wouldn't be as cute!

The pictures are all the same two treat boxes, just different views of the back and front of each. I used the orange flavor and the spearmint flavor Tic Tacs inside, because they are probably the easiest to find. There are some wintergreen ones that are a little lighter green, which would also work great. Please see the link below for the pattern, and see this related post for more tips and suggestions. For example, I removed the date stamp from the Tic Tac container with StazOn Cleaner so the markings would not show through the peekaboo hole.

Stampin' Supplies: Howl-o-ween Creeps stamp set, Basic Black ink pad, Sponge, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait card stock, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait stitched poly ribbon (at least 9" ribbon per box), 1/2" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch (peekaboo window), Word Window Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Sticky Strip, Mini Glue Dots, Simply Scored Board, Paper Snips & Trimmer.

Another Stationery Box (Updated)

A little over two years ago I posted a stationery box that would hold 4 cards and 4 envelopes. You can check out my previous sample HERE.

Today I'm posting an updated version of that boxed set, featuring the Paisley Prints Designer Series Paper and the Four Frames stamp set, available through this month's Spring Is Blossoming Special. This would make a great Mother's Day gift--but you'll need to order the supplies on special, by 4/30/2011!

Click HERE to view or download the stationery box pattern.

The box pattern uses an 8x12 sheet, which is ideal if you are using a sheet of Designer Series Paper. The remaining 4x12 strip can be cut into two 4x5-1/4 pieces which are the perfect size to layer on front of coordinating standard sized cards. You can theoretically get NINE BOXED SETS of 4 cards and 4 envelopes, out of one 12 sheet package of Designer Series Paper, though the printed paper patterns within each boxed set will vary. Just make sure you have a selection of coordinating card stock colors, or go with a coordinating neutral color like River Rock (like I used on my cards), or Crumb Cake.

Stampin' Supplies: Four Frames stamp set, Short & Sweet stamp set, Paisley Prints Designer Series Paper, Not Quite Navy card stock & ink, Baja Breeze card stock & seam binding ribbon, River Rock card stock, Chocolate Chip ink, Decorative Label Punch, Pearl Jewels, Stampin' SpongeSNAIL (use on both surfaces when adhering box sides, for extra hold), Stampin' Dimensionals. (Don't forget to order Medium White Envelopes)
