We Create Blog Hop - Gratitude & Gatherings

Welcome to the NOVEMBER 2024 "Gratitude & Gatherings" Blog Hop! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our theme will focus on anything to do with Gratitude and/or Gatherings. My project features the Sweet Days of Autumn 12"x12" Designer Series Paper from the September 2024 Scrapbooking Brochure. {scroll down below the Blog Roll for ALL product purchase links}

My internet has been out since yesterday at about 3pm, and my phone signal is pretty rotten at my house, so my post will just have the bare navigation for a while until I can get the pictures to upload from my phone. (Yayyyyy, internet is back!!! That was a crazy outage!)

I have a habit of using Designer Series Paper in sizes that I can evenly cut from a whole sheet. In this case, I wanted sizes I could cut from 12"x12", so the strip on the side is 1-1/2" wide, and that piece on the bottom with the grid pattern is 3"x4". All the die cuts come from the Changing Leaves coordinating die set, including that stitched, rounded label. I purposefully chose only one color for my stamping, using the Cajun Craze Ink Pad, not only to stamp the leaf on the Cajun Craze Cardstock in the background, but also to stamp the greeting on the Crumb Cake Cardstock die cut label.

I stamped, die cut, and embossed the maple leaf that is decorating the greeting label. The Changing Leaves die set is bundled with a Hybrid Embossing Folder, and you can cut out some of the leaves while you are embossing. It's a really cool effect if you can stamp the image first, then line it up with the die in the Hybrid Embossing Folder. I finished the greeting label by tying a double bow with the Natural Tones Linen Thread (sadly not available at the moment - Murphy's Law), using the Copper Clay color. And I added a few of the copper colored Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins to add some sparkle.

Stampin' Supplies: Changing Leaves BUNDLE (stamp set + Changing Leaves Dies - with hybrid emobossing folder), Crumb Cake Cardstock, Old Olive Cardstock (little leaves), Crushed Curry Cardstock (outline die cut leaf), Cajun Craze Cardstock & Ink Pad, Sweet Days of Autumn 12"x12" Designer Series Paper, Natural Tones Linen Thread, Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy (for cleaning photopolymer stamps), and Grid Paper. Don't forget your Basic White Medium Envelopes if you want to mail your card. *You will need a FULL SIZE die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies AND the embossing folder.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Thanks a Bunch

Welcome to the November 2023 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices mentioned are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Thanks a Bunch! This month I am sharing a card using the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper. {you can find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

This card is made using a pattern that works great with our 6"x6" Designer Series Papers that have 4 sheets of each double-sided design. You can make 9 cards from those 4 sheets, but the trick is that you will need to trim a 3/4" strip from the SAME END of 3 of the sheets before you cut the rest of those 3 sheets in 2"x5-1/4" strips. When you go to cut the fourth sheet, make sure to take a look at the direction the pattern on the back side is going. You will want to orient your paper so you can cut (8) strips that are 3/4"x5-1/2" from it, and have the pattern facing the same direction as the pattern on the strips you cut from the first three sheets. I mean, if you want all your cards to look the same. (Note: if you cut a 1/2" strip from the long side of the fourth sheet before you cut your 3/4" strips, you have a more useable leftover piece than you would if you cut that 1/2" off all the strips.)

I wanted to show the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper because it had come back in stock again...but apparently it flew off the shelves again by the time I got this post published! Sheesh. It looks like it might get restocked, but the date says TBD so I'll keep you posted.
