NEW: Monthly Class Offerings (including Stamp Club!)

I've been working behind the scenes (and through my kitty's roller coastering health issues) to come up with a plan for offering classes that will be much more predictable and (I hope) easier to understand. As there is interest, I am happy to add more classes, or help you Host your own Workshop/Party. Just email me and I'll see what I can do for you!

With my new class offerings, there's something for everyone, whether you can come craft at my local Events, or you want to participate from home! I am planning to create PDFs with instructions, which link to walkthrough videos, and other resources and ideas relevant to each class, and these will go on sale as Digital ONLY Class Kits after the physical class is held. Each participant of a physical class will also get a complimentary copy of the Digital version of their class. For some events, Class Kits to Go will be offered, which will include consumable supplies sent via USPS, as well as email delivery of the Digital instructions/resources.

Starting in September, I am generally scheduling 4 events per month, on Fridays and Saturdays, with start times at 12:30pm. All of these events will be held at my home. Here's how that will typically look...

FIRST Friday/Saturday of the Month: Workshop or Open House
SECOND Friday/Saturday of the Month: Card Class
THIRD Friday/Saturday of the Month: Product-Based Class
FOURTH Friday/Saturday of the Month: Stamp Club Session

Workshop or Open House
The first event of any given month will generally be a Workshop, unless a new catalog or special product/line is coming out, in which case the event will be an Open House. A Workshop will include a demonstration of 3-4 projects, and one or two Make & Takes. A limited number of Workshop Class Kits to Go will be available for order through the weekend of each Workshop as a pre-order item, and mailed out after I receive delivery of the supply products from Stampin' Up!. Digital ONLY Class instructions/references will be available for sale online after the event is held, and a complimentary copy will be emailed to those who have purchased a Class Kit to Go. An Open House will be a display of samples and products from the upcoming catalog(s), with one or two hands-on projects available. (There are no Class Kits to Go or Digital ONLY Class Kits available for an Open House...it is a physical attendance based event only.) Both these event types are FREE but I do require an RSVP through my Customer Events Page no less than 24 hours in advance, to reserve your project supplies.

Card Class
The second event of any given month will generally be a Card Class. You will make 8 cards (2 each of 4 designs), and your fee includes an envelope for each card. This class fee is set at a flat $20. RSVP through registration (with payment) on my Customer Events Page no less than 24 hours in advance, to reserve your project supplies. A limited number of Card Class Kits to Go will be available for order through the weekend of each class as a pre-order item, and mailed out after Stampin' Up! supplies are delivered to me. Card Class Digital ONLY instructions/references will be available for sale Online after the event is held, and a complimentary copy will be emailed to those who paid for the in-person class or purchased a Class Kit to Go.

Product-Based Class
The third event of any given month will generally be a Product-Based Class. For this class type, you will need to order several items from my ONLINE STORE in time for them to be delivered to you--then you bring those items to enjoy a class I've created around them. RSVP through registration (with payment of a $6 supply fee) on my Customer Events Page no less than 24 hours in advance, to reserve your project supplies. The supply fee is to help cover the cost of items used for the projects, that you didn't buy and bring to class. Although the class for every product or group of products will look a little bit different, I envision this class content to be around 10-12 cards, or perhaps a couple fewer cards at times when a 3D projects are planned. Digital ONLY Classes will be offered for sale after the physical event, and a complimentary copy will be emailed to class registrants after the physical class is held. NO Class Kit to Go is available for this class type.

Stamp Club Session (more details on THIS POST)
The fourth event of any given month will generally be a Stamp Club Session. Members (and Non-Member Guests) of my Monthly Stamp Club may opt to join me during this event, to get a Technique sheet including a Try-It practice piece, and 2-3 simple projects. Members will pay a nominal supply fee of $3, Non-Member Guests may commit to a minimum $30 purchase towards that month's Club sales and make the projects for the same $3 supply fee. (ONLINE Members and Non-Member Guests alike can get a Class Kit to Go for the nominal $3 fee, if they purchase $30 towards that month's Club sales...and they will get not only the consumable supplies for the projects in the mail, but also a complimentary copy of the Digital ONLY version of the class via email.) Non-Member Guests who wish to attend the physical class but do not wish to make a minimum $30 purchase, may register for the in-person Club Session for a fee of $15 (payable to Demonstrator, not applied toward Club sales), however, NO Class Kits to Go will be available without a $30 minimum purchase.

TIP: it's super easy to double-dip each month with the Product-Based Class and the Stamp Club Session...simply apply that month's Stamp Club Host Code to your Product-Based Class purchase, and you can get BOTH the Product-Based Class and the Stamp Club Session for the nominal supply fees of only $12 total!!!

Check out my Customer Events Page and register for an event, or two, or MORE, today!

Christmas Card Club Session 1 Cards

Over the weekend I held my first session of Christmas Card Club here at my place in Colorado Springs, where we make 10 cards (2 each of 5 designs). I am holding 5 sessions this year, for a total of 50 cards. You walk away with the cards and the envelopes, ready to be mailed--and the cards are designed so they should not take any extra postage! Below is a collage of the cards we made, you can click on it to see the full-size image. I will also be featuring each card individually, so don't stress too much if you like a particular one and want to know more about it...just stay tuned :-) If you are not already, you might want to click HERE to Subscribe to my Blog by Email, so you don't miss any posts.

As you can see from the picture, I am holding my Christmas Card Club Session 2 on Friday, October 18th, and again on Saturday, October 19th. The same 10 cards will be made each of those days, they are just offered at two separate times for your scheduling convenience. Check my Events Calendar for the dates of the other 3 Christmas Card Club Sessions. Each class is $20, but if you sign up and prepay for the remaining 4 Sessions no later than October 19th, you get a $5 discount, plus some special BONUSES at each Session!!!

UPDATE: I have added about 14 more names to the blog list, so if you are a winner in the US you could get OVER $150 in FREE Stampin' Up! Product of your choice, when you enter the LNS 2013 Fall Treasure Hunt. Hey--you could make a LOT of Christmas Cards with that haul!!! And don't stop looking at the blogs once you have compiled your 50 answers, because many of the blogs on the list (like mine) are offering their own individual prizes on their Clue post :-)

So Green Stamping Session, Aug. 28th

I was invited to participate in a multi-demonstrator event in Colorado Springs this month, designed around the So Green stamp set (pictured below), and recycling. It's called the So Green Stamping Session, and will be held on Saturday, August 28th from 9am to about noon, at the Stetson Hills Police Station in North Colorado Springs.

This is a family friendly event, and every registered adult may bring one child helper! Registration is $20, and includes the So Green stamp set and all the supplies you'll need for your earth-friendly projects. Important: you must register no later than August 18, 2010 so that I may order your stamp set to arrive in time for your use at the event.

Click HERE for a flyer with all the details and a week's worth of recycling projects you can do, even if you don't attend the event!

At the event, you will make and go home with your own recycled paper, THREE cards, and a repurposed jar (which I will provide for you!). We'll provide bottled water and snacks. There will also be displays of items created with recycled and repurposed materials, as well as a presentation about Stampin' Up!'s green policies, and some "green" activities you can do in your crafting, shopping, and everyday life.

Call me at 719-205-5957 or email me today to reserve your spot (and a spot for your child helper, if you'd like to bring one). You can pay in cash, a local check, or ask me to email you a Google Checkout paperless invoice you can pay with a credit or debit card.

CAN'T MAKE IT ON THE 28th BUT STILL WANT TO PLAY? If you would like to participate but cannot attend, contact me about ordering a "kit" for an additional $15. I will mail you your stamp set, along with supplies and instructions, and a Marina Mist Stampin' Write™ Marker. However, I MUST receive your payment by August 18th.

Flower Fancy Foursome (FREE class)

It's been pretty busy around here, trying to clean up after the holidays and get back into the swing of things, but I did do a little bit of stamping I wanted to share with you!

All four of these cards were made with the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, and the coordinating colors of ink card stock (Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Chocolate Chip), and the stamp set Flower Fancy. I used the Blender Pens to color in the images on the red card, and I used the Riding Hood Red reinker to make sure that red was nice and dark. I used White StazOn ink to get the flowers in the background to show up on the Chocolate Chip card stock. Also, since the Basic Brown ink pad is essentially the same color as Chocolate Chip, I used that for my brown, because the Basic Brown pad is waterproof...allowing me to watercolor over it without smearing it! As a final touch, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the focal images up a little.

These cards are beautiful for use any time of year, whether you want to make them for yourself, or as a gift set to give away. They are also ideal to use for Valentine's Day, especially if you aren't into the heartsy-lovey traditional Valentine's Day images. Pair them up with a variety of greetings, stamped in neutral colors, then mix & match your greetings and cards as the occasions arise! Check them out below...and remember...click on any image to see it full size.

Order these products during the month of January, and use them in a FREE CLASS to make eight of the cards above (2 each of 4 designs), plus a selection of coordinating greetings to use with the cards, plus the matching envelopes. I will provide everything else you need in addition to the products below, and whatever adhesive you'd like to use:
  • Flower Fancy stamp set - die cut for easy assembly (#111578, $36.95)
  • Bella Rose Designer Series Paper (#112041, $9.95)
  • In Color Assorted 8-1/2"x11" Card Stock - 6 ea of 6 colors (#111347, $7.95)

Call me at 719-205-5957 to place your order, or place your order in my ONLINE STORE, and email me to schedule a time to attend your free class. The free class will be held in my home, or if you can get at least 5 others to also purchase the qualifying products this month, we can hold the class in another local spot your group chooses.

Of course, you'll have plenty of card stock and Designer Series Paper left to make tons more cards on your own, even after the class! If you want to have coordinating products for that, you may want to also order the following items. When any of these are ordered in conjunction with the three products above, you will receive a 10% discount on them (limit 1 each):

  • Basic Brown pad (#104315, $5.25), Reinker (#104314, $2.75)
  • Pink Pirouette pad (#111838, $5.25), Reinker (#111843, $2.75)
  • Riding Hood Red pad (#111836, $5.25), Reinker (#111839, $2.75)
  • Kiwi Kiss pad (#111835, $5.25), Reinker (#111842, $2.75)
  • White StazOn pad & Reinker (#106960, $11.95), Reinker alone (#106961, $4.95)
  • Chocolate Chip 8-1/2"x11" Card Stock - 24 sheets (#102128, $5.50)
  • Blender Pens (#102845, $9.95)
  • Whisper White 8-1/2"x11" Card Stock - 40 sheets (#100730, $7.50)
  • Whisper White Medium Envelopes - pkg of 40 (#107301, $6.50)

PLUS, for each of these additional supplies you bring with you to use for the free class, you'll receive a BONUS GIFT from me :-)

Upcoming Classes...

I'm sorry, I haven't meant to neglect my blog--I've been really busy lately...I spent a whole week stamping some really awesome things to enter in the Stampin' Up!® Artisan Award. Every year 10 Demonstrators are picked from the entries, on the basis of things like creativity, composition, color, etc., to win a $500 shopping spree with SU!, and $500 cash! The rules state I can't have posted any of my entries on any website, so I can't post them here...yet...I think it's okay to post them once the contest is over. I'll know by May 16th if I'm a winner! Wish me luck :-)

What I have for you today is a little sneak peek at my Tote of Notecards Class, which will be held on April 24th, from 6-9pm at my house. The cost is only $15, and you will make a box that will hold 8 cards (2 each of 4 different designs) and matching stamped envelopes, which you will also make at the class. This makes an awesome MOTHER'S DAY GIFT, so don't miss out!!!

RSVP and payment are due by April 14th so I can order the supplies you'll need!

EMAIL me now to let me know you want to attend this class! If you can't attend the night of the class, we can schedule a one-on-one time after April 24th when we can make this project together.

Birthday Card Class Sneak Peek

This is a little sneak peek of what you can make at my Birthday Card Class, on March 27th.

IMPORTANT: I need your registration and payment for this class by March 17th so that I can order your supplies.

Essentially, you will complete 18 6"x3" cards, using the Confetti Simply Scrappin'® Kit (and just a few extras I'll give you at the class!). You will also get 18 envelopes, and you will make 2 pouches (not pictured above) for storing your cards and envelopes--9 cards & envelopes will fit in each pouch! So, you can keep one set of cards, and give one away, if you'd like. [Note: many of the cards will easily lend themselves to occasions other than birthdays, so please let me know if you anticipate the need for design adjustments.]

The class fee is only $35, which includes the envelopes, and you will only be using half of the Simply Scrappin'® Kit...you'll get to take home the other half, which is still enough to create 16 double-sided 6"x6" scrapbook pages, or 8 12"x12" double-sided scrapbook pages. All my class attendees receive electronic copies of class instructions, so if you choose to use the rest of your Simply Scrappin'® Kit to recreate another set of the cards we make at the class, that will give you 36 cards, at a cost of less than a dollar each!

Check your schedule and contact me by March 17th if you'd like to register. If you will be unavailable due to Spring Break, but don't want to miss this class, I can make arrangements for you to get the supplies, and I can email you the detailed instructions for the $35 fee, plus postage. HOWEVER, you must meet the March 17th registration & payment deadline, to get this Class in the Mail.

Classy Pictures

Just wanted to post a picture of all the goodies we made at the Spring Celebration Class. We also wheeled envelopes which match the scallop note cards, but those are not shown. And you also can't tell from this picture, but a (green) package of Orbit gum slides inside the Pinch Proof container. The class attendees will be receiving email instructions for all the projects so they can recreate them at home.
You won't want to miss the next class, it is a Birthday Card Class--to be held on March 27th from 6-9pm. RSVP and payment must be received no later than March 17th, so I can order supplies for everyone. Stay tuned for some sneak peeks at the 18 cards we'll be making at that class!

I *DO* have class!

In fact, my next one is on March 6th...the theme is Spring Celebration, which I think we're all ready for out here in Colorado (she says, as snow continues to drift down outside her window). You can pop over to my Events Page to get more information on upcoming classes, but here is a little sneak peek at the awesome things you'll get to make at my Spring Celebration:

Two of these projects feature the Wild Wasabi Card Pack for supplies. The RSVP date for this class has been extended to March 5th, because I was unable to post the samples until today, but I must have your firm commitment by 5pm on the 5th so I can cut and package your class materials.
