Third Thursdays Blog Hop - Holiday Debut

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is Holiday Debut! Our posts will feature projects with Holiday product that is in Stampin' Up!'s 2020 August-December Mini Catalog...which was formerly known as our Holiday Catalog!
{you'll find Product Purchase Links for current items I've used, below the Blog Roll}

My project is a trio of cards using the Banner Year BUNDLE from the 2020 August - December Mini Catalog! (If you need one of those catalogs, let me know!) In this BUNDLE, the Banner Year Photopolymer Stamp Set is bundled with the Banners Pick a Punch at 10% OFF.

There are so many awesome stamp sets, suites, and bundles in the 2020 August - December Mini Catalog, that this versatile pair might easily get overlooked. That's why I wanted to show you how quick and easy it is to create great cards with it. And these are only Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day themed. There are plenty of stamps and sentiments to create cards for Fall, Thanksgiving, and even to make the perfect tags for any or all of those themes!

As I did on my LAST POST, I chose Crumb Cake Cardstock as the base layer, because it's a great neutral base layer with a nice little bit of texture from the paper fibers, and it will easily coordinate with any color combination I choose for my themes with the stamp set. Then, I added Whisper White cardstock for all the banners, and used only colors from the Classic Stampin' Spot Assortment, and using some Stampin' Sponges for extra color. The only tricky color was the "orange" on the jack-o-lanterns. Since the stamps are photopolymer, it's easy to ink up the stamp first in Daffodil Delight, then ink with Flirty Flamingo right over the top of that, to get the orange color.

So, if you are overwhelmed with all the new products, and you just want something to get started, consider the Banner Year BUNDLE...it's the little that goes a long way! If you are squeamish about stamping one image over the top of another ) like the stem of the pumpkin, the Stamparatus might be a helpful tool for you - but I just eyeballed it myself. It would have taken me way longer to try to line up on the Stamparatus.

Stampin' Supplies: Banner Year BUNDLE (stamp set + Banners Pick a Punch), Crumb Cake Cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Classic Stampin' Spot Assortment, Stampin' Sponges, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' SEAL Adhesive, Paper Snips, Simply Shammy (to clean photopolymer stamps), Grid Paper, Stampin' Trimmer. Optional: Stamparatus

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Favorite BUNDLE

Welcome to the August 2020 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects from around the world--but I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Favorite Bundle! I really can't pick a favorite, so I just grabbed something according to my mood. My projects feature the NEW Have a Hoot BUNDLE, which includes the Have a Hoot Stamp Set and the Peek-a-Hoot Dies. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post!}

When you buy any BUNDLE from Stampin' Up!, you get 10% OFF the bundled products - how sweet is that?!? The Have a Hoot stamp set features adorable owls you can use for both Halloween and Christmas! And the coordinating Peek-a-Hoot Dies not only cut out the owl images, but also give you a cluster of "peek-a-boo" windows, as well as a little spider web, and a couple of leafy sprigs that work great for mistletoe or Fall leaves.

I decided to pair this Bundle with the NEW Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper. This patterned paper has colors to reflect every season and occasion, so it's a perfect companion to this versatile Bundle. You can make tons of Halloween and Christmas cards using Crumb Cake Cardstock as a neutral background. And I just used the Watercolor Pencils Assortment to color them. Because I used the StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad to stamp the images, I could go over the pencil coloring with Blender Pens...but I'm okay with the rustic look of leaving the pencil dry.

The Stamparatus is really going to be your friend for quick card making with these dies and images. The other cool thing about the dies, is that when you cut out the peek-a-boo holes, the inner part of the die cuts out cute little tags. You can use those for quick little treat bags!

Stampin' Supplies: Have a Hoot BUNDLE (includes Have a Hoot Cling Stamp Set & Peek-a-Hoot Dies, Crumb Cake Cardstock, StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad, Watercolor Pencil Assortment, Plaid Tidings 6x6 Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Seal Adhesive, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamparatus, Paper Snips, Grid Paper, Paper Trimmer (to cut and score cardstock), Stampin' Scrub & StazOn Cleaner (to clean Cling stamps). NOTE: you'll want a die-cutting/embossing machine to use with the Peek-a-Hoot Dies. {see Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll}

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Summer Nights

Welcome to our JULY 2020 #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Each month we share alternate projects using Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin Kit! We usually hop on the last Thursday of the month, but our July hop was postponed until today. My alternate project is a mini album.

Our Paper Pumpkin kit for July was called Summer Nights. It came with supplies to create 9 postcards, with coordinating envelopes, plus 9 die-cut tea light bags to decorate. Below is a picture of how the projects would look if you make them according to the kit directions. (of course, the idea of the tea light bags is to stand them up, then put a tea light inside, and then you'd see the light coming through the spaces where it is die-cut)

A special Summer Nights Add-On product was also available through My Online Store starting July 1st, which coordinates with the Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin kit. It includes 24 pre-printed 4-1/4" x5-1/2" foldover card bases, with 24 coordinating envelopes. As of this writing, you can still get the Summer Nights Add-On, so I used supplies from that on my project.

The album is put together with some of the envelopes from the Summer Nights Add-On, and decorated with some of the postcards and die-cuts from the Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Kit. I used the Calypso Coral Ink Pad and a Stampin' Sponge to get some light color on the die cut label that came in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, then I stamped the saying in the same ink at full strength. I attached the label with the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals that came in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, but they are also available for purchase separately.

The picture above is the back of the album when it's closed...I wanted to put something there to hold the twine in place on the back so it didn't just fall off when it was opened. I used the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad and a Stampin' Sponge to lightly color this other label from the Paper Pumpkin Kit, then stamped the saying in the same ink at full strength. The little firefly is another die cut from the Paper Pumpkin Kit, adhered with Mini Glue Dots, which are also included in that kit...but you can also purchase those separately.

The picture above is a shot of the inside when one flap is opened, and you can see a die-cut bag, and a starry night panel adhered, which came from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I adhered them using Stampin' SEAL Adhesive, which is not in the kit, but available for purchase separately. The picture below is a shot of the inside when it is fully opened. Each panel (from the Paper Pumpkin Kit) that you see when it's fully open covers an envelope from the Summer Nights Add-On, and inside each envelope is a card base from the same. You could stamp up the card bases, use them for journaling, or add more pictures on them and/or in them.

It's hard to get pictures to show you clearly how it opens, so I did a short video of me opening it up and walking through it. I had to hold my camera in one hand while I did it, so I hope I don't give you motion sickness with all the moving around!
