Welcome to the AUGUST 2020 "Snacks & Beverages" Blog Hop!!! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our projects will feature anything relating to snacks and/or beverages. My project features the NEW Nothing's Better Than stamp set, and the NEW Celebration Labels Dies! (these products will be available August 4th)

My project is SUPER simple, but super fun today! I mentioned in my last post with the Snowman Poop bag topper that I'm so excited for the upcoming Celebration Labels Dies to become available, so I can revisit a bunch of old Top Note Die (retired) projects with you. Today's little treat holder continues to show the versatility of these dies.
I cut out the second-to-largest label in the die set, and found that two Hershey Nugget™ candies fit quite comfortably standing on end next to each other, in a little box I made from that. The picture above shows the scoring, and the red is where you'd CUT, and you can do both using your Paper Trimmer. I'll try to get a video up for you, but I've been having internet issues so I thought it best to stick to pics for now. The horizontal scores in the middle are going to each be 1/4" away from that notch in the center of them. The vertical score marks are just lined up with the end of the "bumps" on the label. The trickiest part is that you will cut away the area of the last little bump vertically on each side. You can eyeball it, but it actually should measure 1/2" from the vertical score mark just previous to it.
Then, you can see in the picture above, where you can snip the flaps, then lay it flat to stamp. I stamped the outlines of the chocolates using the Soft Suede Ink Pad, and stamping OFF once before stamping on the cardstock. I used the same ink for the inside parts of the chocolates but stamped OFF twice before stamping on the cardstock. The sayings are stamped using the StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad. After stamping, you can use your Take Your Pick Tool to create a hole through the top for the gold thread. Just line up the tops of the container, and lay it on your Stampin' Pierce Mat, then pierce through. Once you've made the holes, then adhere the little box where you see the 'X' marks in the picture.
After that, you can tie the bow at the top with the gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. I have some great tips for that, but they are going to have to wait for a video because they are kind of hard to explain in writing...but they will help you quickly and easily get that thread through the tiny holes, and will also help keep your thread from unraveling! So, stay tuned and SIGN UP FOR BLOG UPDATES BY EMAIL so you don't miss out.

ReplyDeleteGreat project, great instructions! These would be perfect for little favors for a dinner (when we can start having people for dinner again!) or a party!
ReplyDeleteThe Box is a fabulous idea and now I need a bite of that chocolate. I like the touch of the gold twine too.
