Ooooops, I forgot to mention...the "poop"in the bag is marshmallows!
My project is a bit of a "Throwback Thursday" project. I'm going to re-create my Snowman Poop bag topper from 2008, with a Sneak Peek of the Celebration Labels Dies and the 4"x7" Mosaic Gusseted Cello Bags from the UPCOMING August - December Mini Catalog! (If you need one of those catalogs, let me know so I can get on in the mail for you.)

If you've been around for a while, you'll know that Stampin' Up! used to have the Top Note die, which was perfect for bag toppers. That die was retired years ago, so I'm SUPER excited you will be able to order the Celebration Labels Dies from me starting August 1st!!! I have tons of fun Top Note projects I'm excited to re-make! And just a note on the 4"x7" Mosaic Gusseted Cello Bags that you will also be able to order August 1st...I trimmed mine down to 5-1/2" tall for this project. (though I think about 6" might have been better) I made the little saying in a PDF, so you can just print it out right onto your Balmy Blue Cardstock.
On my original bag topper from 2008, I used some ribbon for the trim on the hat. This time, I used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to give a little strip of Balmy Blue Cardstock some texture. I popped up the trim with a piece of Foam Adhesive Strips, but you could also use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals if you want. As for the little mistletoe die cut pieces, you get those in the Celebration Labels Dies and you could use different colors of cardstock to paper-piece them, but I just used the Real Red Stampin' Blends and Just Jade Stampin' Blends to color Whisper White Cardstock.
Also, there's a little trick to make the eyes, using the Snowman Builder Punch, which is currently available to purchase. I punch out two snowman bodies in Basic Black Cardstock, then trim off the smallest (top) circle with just a little extra attached to it, then stick that back into the punch from the bottom and punch the rounded side on the other end.
You can definitely trim out the eyes freehand, but if you're into precision then this is a fun way to do it. PLUS, you can round the corners of your paper for the hat, by sticking them in the small lump of the Snowman Builder Punch from the bottom. AND, the punch coordinates with the Snowman Season Stamp Set, which is also currently available to purchase, so you can make even more fun Snowman Poop topper designs!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous fun project I am sure going to give these a try, x
ReplyDeleteKimberly, too cute. These would make great little kid handouts. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteKimberley, this just makes me smile! That little snowman is too stinking cute and it's the only time "poop" is a fun treat. LOL! I have to make some of these this year. Thank you for the awesome inspiration!
