A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Bone Appetit

Welcome to our September 2019 #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Each month we share alternate projects using Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin Kit! Our Paper Pumpkin kit this month is called Bone Appetit. It came with supplies to make 20 adorable Halloween treat boxes! I added just a few supplies to make the card, and turned the box inside-out so I could ink it up with Gorgeous Grape to coordinate with the card.

Right now I'm having issues with the camera I regularly use for blog pictures, and I've had to use my cell phone. My cell phone pictures don't seem to capture color accurately, so I'm just going to leave one picture of my projects until I get that issue resolved. You can see the products I used in my Stampin' Supplies section near the bottom of the post, but one thing you might not be able to see well is the detail of the Clear Wink of Stella...I brushed it over the white bones on the hand so they would glisten!

Third Thursdays Blog Hop: Holiday Catalog Goodies

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is Holiday Catalog Goodies! Posts will feature Stampin' Up! products or projects from the Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog. For my project today, I decided to package up some quick little "goodies" using the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set!
{you'll find Product Purchase Links for current items I've used, below the Blog Roll}

Now, I do have a disclaimer...the 2"x8" cello bags that I used for this project are RETIRED from our product line. If you are looking for a substitute, I recommend our 3"x6" Gusseted Clear Bags.

I generally don't use product I can't sell to you, but I wanted something to fit this allergy-free candy I bought. These chocolates are pricey specialty bars, so I didn't want to put more than one in a packet. I will give you a couple of links where you can find the 2"x8" bags, and these are not affiliate links, I'm just helping you out.

PAPER MART - After you go to this page, you'll need to use the dropdown to change the width to 2" and the length to 6" (you trim them to 2" x 5" so you don't need the entire 8" length for this project). When I looked, it was $9.60 for a box of 1000.

NASHVILLE WRAPS - The smallest they have that will work is their 2"x10" bags, but the good news is that you can buy just 100 of them if that's all you need, for $6.25.

So, the whole point of this project for me, was to create something quick and simple. I only used one color of ink, the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, and to get the spider web to come out lighter, I stamped it off TWICE before stamping on the cardstock topper. Like I said above, I trimmed my 2"x8" Cello Bags down to 2"x5" for this project.

My sample uses regular Whisper White Cardstock, but I highly recommend the Thick Whisper White Cardstock because I feel like it's a little bit less smooth, and the black ink is less likely to smear on it because it will dry a little bit faster. I cut the cardstock for my toppers to 2"x4", and scored them at 2" so they fold over the clear bag with a 2"x2" area for stamping. If you'd like to use our 3"x6" Gusseted Clear Bags, you might want to make your toppers 3"x6" and then score them at 3" so you can fold them over the bag and have a 3"x3" stamping area.

The last little "trick" I used was to make the little package re-closeable with Metallic Brads. But, I only wanted to use one brad for each topper - there's me being stingy again - and that was not enough to keep the bag from sliding around, especially if my placement ended up a little off-center because I didn't want to punch through an image I had stamped. So, to keep the bag in place, and the topper centered over it securely, while still making it re-closeable...I only put SNAIL Adhesive on the inside BACK of the topper. Then I laid the bag onto that, folded the topper over, and then punched a hole and put the brad through. That way, once you open the brad and remove it, you can flip up the topper and the bag is actually open so you can dump out the candy.

This is perfect if you are making a bunch to give away, and then you have leftover. It allows you to take the candies back out without having to rip open the packages! If you do craft fairs, this is an excellent way to package your perishables. Plus, if the person doesn't like the exact candy you used, they can remove it and put in their own. Lol, or if you get peckish, you can dig into your stash for a quick energy boost and then refill them later!

Stampin' Supplies: Wonderfully Wicked Cling Stamp Set, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Whisper White Cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Smoky Slate Cardstock, 2"x8" Treat Bags (RETIRED), Metallic Brads, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer (RETIRED - for cutting & scoring), 1/4" Hole Punch (optional).

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Pick a Bundle

Welcome to the September 2019 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects from around the world--but I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Pick a BUNDLE! My project today features the It Starts with Art BUNDLE from the Follow Your Art Suite of products. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post!}

I used the It Starts with Art BUNDLE along with the Stampin' Up! Mini Shipping Boxes to create a treat-filled showcase of the 2019-2021 In Colors! I folded down the front and side flaps and adhered them with a little bit of Tombow Multipurpose Glue. I left the back flap up to use as a backdrop for my decorations. And I made sure a few of those die cut pieces straddled over the crease of that back flap, to give it more support to stay upright.

There are 5 sections inside the box, that I created using the 2019-2021 Designer Series Paper (DSP) Assortment. The sheets are 6"x6" and I cut them to 4"x5", then scored 2-1/4" from each edge of the 5" sides. That gave me little dividers that were 4" wide, 2-1/4" tall, and about 1/2" deep.

I used SNAIL Adhesive to stick each of the sections to each other, but I did not adhere the front or back of the DSP sections to the box at all. They just sort of float in there and take up all the space. You can see from the top, I have a little cardstock "bobbin" of the coordinating color, with some ribbon of the coordinating color, a Fun Size Heath candy bar wrapped in coordinating DSP, and a strip of coordinating color 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots.

Here's more of a close up view of a single section. The cardstock "bobbin" is actually adhered to the back of the coordinating color section with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. That way the top of the "bobbin" sits up high enough to see it above the section. Also, I was able to use the leftover 2"x6" piece from the 6"x6" DSP sheet I used for the section, to wrap the candy bar. I just trimmed it to 2"x3-1/2", wrapped it around, and it seems to fit just fine!

I decorated the front of the box with pieces I stamped and cut apart from a saying in the It Starts with Art stamp set. The ruffled "ribbon" across the bottom front is a piece that was cut with the Arts & Crafts Dies. The die is meant to line up with the end of a piece of cardstock to give it a ribbon edge, but I trimmed it out at the few points where it was connected so it just looks like wavy ribbon.

There's still a bit of room in each section that you could fill with little buttons in the coordinating cardstock, using the Arts & Crafts Dies. There are several little buttons included in the dies, and they have embossed details on them. I just ran out of time to do that for my post today, as I was struggling with some technical difficulties with both my computer, and my internet. This would make an adorable little gift for your favorite crafter!
