2014 Easter Project Mash-Up

Do you suffer from Craftitis Non-Interruptus? I think I do. This is what happens when I get back to crafting after I've been away, unfortunately mostly due to being ill. I get so excited to look at ALL of the samples I've missed online, and to make new things, and I stay in my PJ's all day. And while I'm engrossed in my come back, I need to get up and pee, but I put it off; I need to eat and drink, but that can wait til my next stopping point (unless I have candies lying around). Suddenly I've made myself ill again, from a condition I have decided to call: Craftitis Non-Interruptus. I know I need to stop acting like a 5-year old at recess, but knowing and doing are two different things. This is why I will be presenting prior projects for your last-minute Easter crafting enjoyment, instead of posting new ones! Sorry, I'll grow up soon--the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?!?

2014 Leprechaun Punch Art FREE Printable PDF

I have created a FREE printable for you, using My Digital Studio, to make my 2014 Leprechaun Punch Art! When printed at 100% (actual size), each leprechaun just fits inside the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, and can then be layered onto the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, if desired. If you want smaller leprechauns, please adjust your print scaling accordingly. To make a quick garland, punch out scallop circles and sew them together in a line (gold thread would make a fantastic accent), then adhere a punched out leprechaun over the top of each--or use the leprechaun only every other or every few scallops.

Click HERE to view, or Right-Click to save, Leprechaun PDF
(copyright watermark will appear when viewing the electronic file, but will not print)

Digital Downloads Used: 1.25" Circle Punch in Blush Blossom card stock (face), Two Step Owl Punch Eyes (used for eyes and for nose), Scallop Circle Punch in Tangerine Tango (for beard), 1.25" Circle Punch in Gumball Green (cropped for hat top), 1.25" Circle Punch in Basic Black (cropped for hat band), Word Window Punch in Gumball Green (slightly flattened and stretched for hat brim), Gold Glimmer Brad, Splatter 3 in Baked Brown Sugar (reduced and rotated, then layered in for freckles), Freeform Lines for smile.

Halloween Beware Banner

I mentioned previously that I have been experiencing some challenges in posting to my blog. One of the biggest ones right now is a problem with my eyes, or at least one of them. It twitches and blurs to a maniacal degree when I get on the computer, even with strain and glare preventative glasses. But I wanted to make some banners for my college kids' dorm rooms, so I braved it out yesterday. You get to reap the benefits (without the eye twitch consequences) with this free downloadable PDF:

Click Image to see it Larger

The PDF download is 6 pages, one letter/flag on each page. There's lots of detail on each page, please view the PDF to see it clearly. (the PDF also includes a list of digital supplies used, in case you see something you love and have to have!) Some of the digital images bleed over the edges of the flag, just cut out along the grey fishtail pennant shape. I punched small holes in the corner of each and tied the letters together with square knots, using Linen Thread. I did a simple wrap-around knot at each end, leaving long tails to make it easy to tie for hanging.

If you want a bigger banner that says "happy halloween", without anything even remotely creepy on it, check out my up-up-upline's blog post for the free printable banner that inspired mine.

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 11

Welcome to Day 11 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! Yes, it may be Thanksgiving before I get all my cards done and sent out, but that's okay with me. Sometimes life throws you curves, or you get hit with a foul ball, and you just have to step back and recover before you can get back in the game :-) I actually created this card over a week ago, but haven't been able to get it posted until today.

The PDF download has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

To create this super-simple, neutral card, I took advantage (once again) of a predesigned template in My Digital Studio. The basic card template came with the Celebrate Any Day Greeting Card Templates digital download, I simply traded out the Congrats greeting for the Thank You greeting, which was included in the download.

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
Whisper White Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Crumb Cake Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50

Would you like to join me in sending out Thank You cards? Let me know by commenting on my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge post, and on top of the warm fuzzy feeling you'll get, you may win a special prize!

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 10

Welcome to Day 10 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! I've made a quick card to catch me up to today. This one is based on a physical card I made a few months ago. I hope you don't mind these short & quick posts, I'm trying to focus on just getting these cards done and mailed out for now.

The PDF download has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

The physical version was created with the From My Heart stamp set, but I haven't yet bought the digital version of that set...that's why the card above was made with the Perfectly Penned digital stamp brush set, instead:

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
Whisper White Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Crumb Cake Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 9

Welcome to Day 9 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! This is actually my card for yesterday. I wore myself out cleaning and organizing again, and didn't get a card made. (It was that kind of detail stuff that takes hours, and that no one ever notices but you, but it will drive you crazy til you get it done. *sigh*) For this card, I created the physical one first, then had to set about trying to figure out how to recreate it in My Digital Studio. After creating the background digitally, I realized I wanted it layered, so I saved the whole thing as a photo and brought it back in that way. I really like this design because it's neutral, but also because it looks like you are giving someone a blue ribbon prize :-)

The PDF download has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)
Here is the physical version, it's a little more rough-textured with all the Basic Gray sponging. I made score lines across the card stock with the Simply Scored Diagonal Board, then folded it over and sponged lightly on the edge of each score line. I didn't bother to reink my Marina Mist ink pad for the background images, because I sort of wanted a little of that break through of white:

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
Whisper White Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Crumb Cake Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! Not much to yak about today, just trying to finish cleaning up my stamp space...which is hard to do when I keep needing to drag out supplies for another card! Oh well, it keeps me busy, right? Today, I pulled out some River Rock card stock (because I feel I have neglected it for far too long), and the Kindness Matters stamp set. I just had to have that stamp set when it came out, and I hadn't even used it til today. Wow. The Hello,Doily background stamp was free--I won it at the 2011 Convention--but it had also never seen ink until this card.

The PDF download has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)
I came up with this card as the physical version...it's really hard to get the colors to photograph well in my basement, but I like this one better than the digital version:

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
Whisper White Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Crumb Cake Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! So, fat chance I'm gonna eek any more designing out of this headachey mind today. Wish me better luck tomorrow! In the meantime, here is my second "cheat" card, to catch you up with 7 different 'thank you' cards to date. This card started out as the card template included in the Sweet Floral Stamp Brush Set Digital Download, and I just tweaked it for a more neutral, less flowery, look, by substituting in the typewriter from the Established Elegance Stamp Brush Set Digital Download:

The PDF download has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! Okay, yeah, so I'm gonna take a little shortcut today, because I missed posting yesterday's card. Please forgive me, I'm fighting an abscess over a dental implant (the same dental implant that gave me strep during the procedure in July), and a raging headache. I'll try and get my Day 7 card posted later today, but I need to go lie down, so no guarantees. Anyway, this is basically the same card I made before, but I learned a really cool trick in My Digital Studio that Martha Inchley shared, which is editing the Half Circle punch and using it over images for highlights. If Martha has a blog, I can't find it, but you can follow her digital work HERE on Stampin' Up!'s MyDigitalStudio.net site.

My free printable has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

This card is actually kinda cool, I used a color combo that came up in My Digital Studio when I clicked on Primrose Petals in the Combos tab: Primrose Petals, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Midnight Muse, and Whisper White. I used Daffodil Delight textured card stock in the background, and set the opacity fairly low. Then I used a woodgrain stamp in Peach Parfait over that, and also lightened the opacity for the stamp. Amazingly, these colors which are basically yellow and orange, look like a light wood. Go figure!

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! Today I actually made a real-live physical card...woo hoooooo for me!!! This card was inspired by a card Angie Tieman posted, and while I rarely copy a card, I just love how hers "stacked up". Ummmm, I do have a confession to make, though. I *think* I like my digital card just a little bit more than I like my physical card. Is that evil? I can't help it, My Digital Studio makes it SO easy to put layers where you want them, and resize elements to make them just right.

My free printable has two identical cards on an 8-1/2"x11" sheet, and does not have my watermark on the card images. Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

I do still think the physical card is charming, but I did not have a physical label or tag in the size I wanted for the greeting, and there wasn't really any ideal way to get the vanilla behind the owl faces & bellies, and still keep the physical card quick and easy. Both would have been possible with a little tracing and cutting, but that would have been a bit more work ;-)

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! I'm going to share another digital card with you today, because I've got to do a little reorganizing in my stamp room before making any physical cards. My sweet daughter turned 18 and signed up to become a demonstrator, and I'm trying to figure out how best to share my space & supplies, and still also keep hers separate for her. As with the previous digital cards I shared, my professionally printed card is 5"x3-1/2", but I've made a half-sheet card for you. Just to be clear, there are two identical cards per 8-1/2"x11 sheet, and the PDF does not have my watermark on the card images:

Just print out the PDF at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
Whisper White Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes (40 env) for $6.50

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge! Today just shot by me, so I'm going to "cheat" again with a digital card. My professionally printed card is 5"x3-1/2", but I've made a half-sheet card for you:

The Free Printable PDF has two cards up on an 8-1/2x11 sheet. As I mentioned with the last one, it does not have the watermark on it that you see in the image above. Simply print out the sheet at 100%, then cut the sheet in half. Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:

30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of my 30-Day Gratitude Card Challenge!  Today I'm going all-digital...that's the best option when your hormones go out of control and you refuse to handle scissors, for your safety, and/or the safety of others :-O  Among other things, I am grateful today that I've had the privilege of having and raising my two children. And as an aside, it would be okay with me if "Aunt Flo" would quit dropping by every month.  Sorry if that's TMI, but if you are a woman, or live with one, or have known one for more than a month, you can probably relate.

The Free Printable PDF has two cards up on an 8-1/2x11 sheet.  Don't worry, it does not have the watermark on it that you see in the image above..  Simply print out the sheet at 100%, then cut the sheet in half.  Fold each half over, and you'll have two foldover cards :-)

If you need envelopes to fit half-sheet foldover cards, I recommend one of the following:
