Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - A Mother's Love

Welcome to the MAY 2022 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is A Mother's Love! For my project I am updating an old project, using the NEW Sun Prints Suite Collection (though I didn't use the Fern 3D Embossing Folder on my cards). The first pic below shows the old design. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

This week has been SUPER crappy for me...it's been really stressful, and I've been in a lot of pain, especially the last few days. So, I am going to resurrect an old Mother's Day project that's super easy to make. It's a Four Card Stationery Box you can recreate with any 12x12 Designer Series Paper that you feel is pretty enough to stand as a complete card front design on its own. I love giving sets of cards as a Mother's Day gift, and it doesn't get much easier than this.

Download the Four Card Stationery Box Pattern PDF HERE

The key is having a coordinating stamp set with the greetings you want to use, and a punch (or die set) on which you can place those greetings. Pick either a neutral background color for your card base, or use a few different colors that coordinate with your Designer Series Paper.

It is also nice to have some specifically coordinating ribbon, but if you don't, you can do what I did, and use the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, or you could even just use Linen Thread. And, our White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon is quickly and easily changed to any coordinating color with the swipe of Stampin' Blends Marker.

You can bling these up with embellishments, like our Iridescent Rhinestones or our Solid Faceted Gems. Personally, for the sake of the recipient of my card set being able to mail them without extra postage, I like to leave my designs fairly flat. Our Brushed Brass Butterflies, or Polished Dots have a little less height than the former two embellishments, and would probably be fine postage-wise.

Stampin' Supplies: Sun Prints Suite Collection (Nature's Prints Stamp Set, Natural Prints Dies, Sun Prints 12x12 Designer Series Paper, Fern 3D Embossing Folder), Basic White Cardstock, Sahara Sand Cardstock, Starry Sky Ink Pad and Cardstock, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Stampin' Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue (to adhere DSP to card base), Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots (to make little spun twine circles), Stampin' Seal+ or Tear & Tape (to adhere stationery box), Stampin' Scrub & Stampin' Mist (to clean red rubber stamps), Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Grid Paper, Paper Trimmer, and the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. And don't forget Basic White Medium Envelopes, if you want to mail your card! {see Product Purchase Links under the Blog Roll}

We Create Blog Hop - Cut it Out!

Welcome to the MARCH 2021 "Cut it Out" Blog Hop!!! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month the focus of our projects will be cutting. It can be cutting with dies, using punches, fussy cutting (by hand), or just a special way of cutting.
{scroll to the bottom of this post for ALL product purchase links}

I thought some health issues might have been getting better for me, but they took a dive and have been kind of low for the past month. So, my project is going to be an easy "throwback" project of mine from a several years back, updated with current product. It's a stationery holder that will hold 4 cards and envelopes, that's made from cutting a 12"x12" sheet of Designer Series Paper, down to 8"x12", then scoring and folding it.

Though you can use the scoring blade on the Paper Trimmer for this project, I personally prefer to use the Bone Folder to make the score lines. To do this you simply open the cutting guide of the Paper Trimmer, so it's out of the way, then you use the trimmer for your measurements but you slide the pointy end of the Bone Folder down the cutting groove. I've found that the Bone Folder is much gentler on our Designer Series Paper, so you are less likely to press too hard and accidentally tear the paper.

Just to make things easier on myself, I used the Snail Mail Designer Series Paper that I used previously to create the 4 valentine cards in THIS POST. These cards are pictured below, and they have a decent amount of layering with some die cuts, some images cut by hand, and also some embellishments, and you can see they still fit nicely into the stationery holder. My Stampin' Supplies for this post, and the purchase links, will be limited to just the stationery folder itself, so if you want to check out the supplies needed for those cards, be sure to check that post link from last month.

Stampin' Supplies: Snail Mail Designer Series Paper, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack, Basic White Medium Envelopes, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Grid Paper.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Card Sets

Welcome to the October 2018 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring Card Sets! You'll see projects from stampers from around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and the theme for this month is to create Card Sets. My project features coordinating products from the Share What You Love Suite.
(see specific Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)

I used the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, and some coordinating cardstock to create a set of 4 cards (plus envelopes) and a holder. The stationery box is pretty straightforward, just some trimming and folding, and then I used Tear & Tape Adhesive in just a couple of places to adhere the edges.

Download the Pattern and Instructions for my Stationery Box
from THIS POST

When I make my stationery box, I like to orient it so the 3-1/2" flap folds over the top. That way it goes down just a wee bit lower, and my ribbon or twine can go a little lower than center. You don't have to untie this twine to get into the box, the flap will just slide out...then slide back under the twine again to close it.

All the die cut tags/labels you see on the cards are from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, as well as the little metal rose embellishments, the tiny paper clips, and both the striped and the pearlized white twine.

For this one with the leafy background, I tied the twine/string in a knot instead of a bow. I think it leaves the card a little more masculine, for those times you want to tell a manly man how amazing he is!

I was originally going to do ALL the cards on Crumb Cake Cardstock bases, but the flowery paper pattern already had a Crumb Cake background. I wanted the layers to stand out a little more, so that's when I decided to add the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock to the mix.

Then I just went ahead and used the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock behind the greeting layer on this card, too. If you'll notice, several of the cards have rounded corners. The stationery box also has rounded corners, even on the corners inside. The Detailed Trio Punch is perfect for this! But, you can also leave all the edges straight if you're looking to conserve on your supplies.

Stampin' Supplies: All Things Thanks stamp set (available in either wood-mount or cling-mount...I used the cling mount and cut apart the pieces of phrases I wanted to use separately or space out), Share What You Love Designer Series Paper, Share What You Love Embellishment Kit, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Rich Razzleberry Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, Detailed Trio Punch, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer (for cutting & scoring). (see Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll)
