Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Happy NEW Year

Welcome to the JANUARY 2022 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Happy NEW Year! We'll be sharing projects using NEW products today! I'm featuring products from the Sweet Talk Suite. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

My card is a "slimline" card...and although we now have our own Slimline Envelopes now, I decided to make my own envelope, using Fresh Freesia Cardstock. It is not listed as a color that would coordinate with the Sweet Talk 12x12 Designer Series Paper, but I think it works great. I stamped the images on the front of the envelope using the Highland Heather Ink Pad. The X and O are separate images in the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set, and the lines are another separate image, but they look like a postmark to me when they are used all together. I also used it across the bottom of the envelope, turned 90 degrees, just overlapping the bottom a bit. You can only see a small bit of it in the picture, but I thought it sort of looked like the bar code lines the postal service puts across the bottom of an envelope. In addition to the products from the Sweet Talk Suite, I have used the Dotty Hearts Embossing Folders from the Annual Catalog. There are two small embossing folders in that pack, and I just used one of them on my card.

On both the envelope, and the card front, I made use of the corner rounder punch that's on the Detailed Trio Punch. The Iridescent Rhinestones you see on the project are in the NEW Sweet Talk Suite. The Suite also includes some Real Red ribbon, but I wanted something in a purple hue for this card. I chose the Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon, and I think it works really well. That ribbon is also from the Annual Catalog, just like the Dotty Hearts Embossing Folders...don't forget about those great products! The curve at the back top of the envelope was made with a little die from the Sweet Heart Dies If you want to replicate that look, be sure to put a piece of chipboard inside your envelope first, so the die doesn't cut all the way through. My final touch on the envelope was to add just a bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue around the corners of the flap, and let it dry. This creates a temporary bond that will allow the envelope to open and close

Those cute little hearts that look like a number pad, are from the coordinating Sweet Heart Dies, which you can get in the Sweet Conversations Bundle, or purchase separately. The die is a column of 4 hearts, so I die cut 3 columns, and cut the last heart off two of the columns. You will really want the Foam Adhesive Sheets for that part of the project. Just put some on the back of the Highland Heather Cardstock before you die cut, then you can just peel and stick the columns to the card front. The little hearts in the center of the columns of hearts are meant to come out, so you can use them that way on a project if you like, too. I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to write the numbers by hand.
