Divine™ Jack-o-Lantern Mini Purse Favor

Raise your hand if you're tired of seeing Christmas stuff all over the place before Halloween. Yeah, I hear ya ;-) I am guilty of having shared 5 Christmas Cards in a row myself recently (oops). But today, I am really starting to dig in with the Halloween theme. Actually, this project I am sharing today does double duty--if you leave off the Jack-o-Lantern face, it makes a lovely Fall or Thanksgiving treat or table favor:

This Jack-o-Lantern Mini Purse Favor features Stampin' Up!'s Bigz L Petite Purse Die. This die will cut out the body of the purse, along with a purse strap. For this project, I elected to use the purse strap to hold four Divine™ Milk Chocolate Mini Pieces, as you see below. You could just leave your chocolates banging around the inside of the favor, but I thought it would be uber nifty for the recipient to open it up and pull out this tidy little package of awesomeness :-D

I love making decorative treat holders, but for the last several years, I've felt worse and worse about using what I call "big corporation candy". You know the candies I'm talking about. I love chocolate as much as the next folk, but as a grownup, an overwhelming part of the enjoyment I derive from chocolate now involves fairness in commerce, and wholesome ingredients. I'll post my rant on this later, but for now just believe me when I tell you that Divine™ chocolates live up to their name in every way! That's why I'll be featuring them in MANY more upcoming holiday projects--don't they look great together?

Christmas Card Club 1: Oh What Fun Card

This is the last of the five cards we made at my Christmas Card Club Session 1, held in my Colorado Springs home. Check out my Event Calendar for more classes you can enjoy if you live in or around this area. My Christmas Card Club Session 2 will be held soon, you can click on either day/time for more details, and to RSVP: Friday, October 18th from 7-10pm, or Saturday, October 19th from 9am-12 Noon. (cards are the same on Friday and Saturday, I just offer two times for your scheduling convenience)

This is another card design which was inspired by one I saw in a demonstrator-only gallery called Stampin' Connection. Instructions:
1) Cut a sheet of Coastal Cabana card stock to 4-1/4" x 11", then score to create a card base that folds to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" with the fold on top.
2) Cut out or punch three 1" squares of Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. You may choose the designs shown above, or choose different patterns.
3) Using the Postage Stamp Punch, punch three shapes from Silver Foil Sheets.
4) Adhere each 1" square of patterned paper to a metallic postage stamp shape, with a flat glue such as SNAIL, and set aside.
5) Stamp the images from the Snowflake Soiree stamp set as shown, in Coastal Cabana ink, onto the front of the Coastal Cabana card base.
6) Lay the postage stamp pieces onto the card in the orientation desired, then lift and adhere each one carefully in place.
7) Stamp 'Oh what Fun' image from Christmas Messages stamp set, in Midnight Muse ink as shown.
8) Place a self-adhesive Rhinestone in center of top left snowflake as shown.
9) Address your Medium Whisper White Envelope, put your card inside, affix appropriate postage--and SEND!
