Color Combo Blog Hop - September 2018

These colors just SCREAM Halloween to me!!! I haven't purchased any products yet from the 2018 Holiday Catalog, so I had to make do with some Annual Catalog supplies. The star of this project is the Envelope Punch Board, with a little assist from the NEW Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set. {see Product Purchase Links below Blog Roll}

Below you'll find a closeup of the face. This card uses several Circle Punches to make it fast and easy. You could just cut them freehand if you want, but that might make your card look a little more creepy than cute! I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker brush tip to squiggle the mouth lines, and I used the pen tip of the same marker to doodle the "stitches".

As you can see below, I stamped the Trick or Treat greeting from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set on this Franken-monster's "hair". I wanted to mention that I strongly recommend getting the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in wood-mount. Once you mount them, you are good to go forever...just take your time and line up the rubber image square with the wood block and you'll always have an easy time stamping it straight. The clear-mount stamps are also just SO easy to lose when they are this small.

I stamped that Trick or Treat greeting a few times with full strength Gorgeous Grape ink, and then I went back and filled in with several more of the greeting, in stamped off ink, and even stamped off twice ink. I cut his hair freehand...after taking a pencils and drawing in approximate lines on the back of the card stock. I really want to show you how I made this card, it's SUPER EASY if you have the Envelope Punch Board to make the little bumps on the side of his head, and also to round all the corners. But I'm not feeling great, so I'll have to try to get those directions posted later.

UPDATE: You can find the replay of a Livestream showing you how to make this card on my Facebook Business Page...click for the VIDEO HERE!

Colour Combo Blog Hop July 2018

My card for this color challenge is actually backwards-engineered from a "masculine" card I made using nearly these same supplies. I'll show you that card soon. This card was a tad bit easier, because there are several flowery and feminine elements to the P.S. You're the Best stamp set, that I didn't have to hold back on using.

There's ONE stamp I just had to use on this card that isn't actually in the P.S. You're the Best stamp set...but seriously, it looks like it belongs in this stamp set.

Take a closer look. See the little lines under the P.S. part of the letter? Don't they look like tiny lines of text?? Lol, that's actually a stamp from the Artisan Textures stamp set! It's the perfect size to stamp right in there.

I frilled out the card with some f#@&y cut flower detail tucked behind the Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine. I trimmed one leaf off of each of the flowers on the side, so the overlapping leaves wouldn't bulk up the bouquet. It doesn't take long, but you need to go slow while you're cutting so you don't inadvertently cut through that skinny little stem.

Here's one last look at the whole card. I really think Balmy Blue is my favorite new color, and I love how nicely the Night of Navy Cardstock and Night of Navy ink pad contrasts.

Stampin' Supplies: P.S. You're the Best stamp set, Artisan Textures stamp set, Shimmery White Cardstock, Petal Pink Cardstock & ink pad, Balmy Blue Cardstock & ink pad, Night of Navy Cardstock & ink pad, Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine, 1" Circle Punch, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, SNAIL Adhesive, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer. Colour Combo Blog Hop June 2018

I'm gonna be brutally honest with you, Blackberry Bliss might be one of my least favorite of our current colors. I know, right?!? I totally heard a collective gasp from the Blackberry Bliss fan club.

I can't help it, I'm a last minute stamper (hence the name 'procrastistamper') and Blackberry Bliss is a color you just can't rush. If you don't handle the stamped color like a fragile little princess, it punishes you by smearing all over your project, your hands, your cat, and even some important piece of paper all the way across the room, somehow. And a little goes a LOOOOOOONG way, so I really only used a bit of it on my project.

I have another confession to make...I usually don't use so many different products on one card. But the soft nature of the Petal Pink really called for one of the new, sweet Pearlized Doilies, the detailed outline of the Stitched Framelits, and the baby theme demanded the tiny scalloped outline of the Layering Ovals Framelits. I also used Stampin' Blends (Crumb Cake), as well as Blender Pens (with Petal Pink ink pad) to color in the kanga. I first stamped it in Petal Pink, then did the coloring with Stampin' Blends. Then I lined up the stamp over the original, and stamped it again with Blackberry Bliss to get the darker outline. Then I used the Blender Pens with the Petal Pink ink to do the kanga's tummy.

To finish it off, I used some Petal Pink sequins from the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins assortment, and the Crumb Cake twine from the Nature's Twine 4-Pack. That twine pack also includes Blackberry Bliss, so you could also make the card using that color twine, with this same layout.
