We Create Blog Hop - Bunnies & Bears

Welcome to the APRIL 2022 "Bunnies & Bears" Blog Hop!!! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month the focus will be projects around bunnies & bears! I am using the Retiring A Wish for Everything stamp set, and the Retiring coordinating Word Wishes Dies, along with the Ladybug Builder Punch, to make a card for Easter.

I wanted to feature the outgoing 2020-2022 In Colors, so I used Cinnamon Cider Cardstock for the card base, and the Cinnamon Cider Ink Pad for the word "happy" in the greeting. I used Bumblebee Cardstock for the "sun", and Just Jade Cardstock for the little berm on which the bunny is sitting.

The background layer of the card is actually Very Vanilla Cardstock - I grabbed that because I know our Basic White Cardstock is out of stock at this moment, so I wanted to show how easy it is to substitute for that. (I had already made the white bunny a while back, and had it sitting on my desk) I used the Just Jade Ink Pad  and Blending Brushes to blend in some "grass" at the bottom edge, and the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad to blend some light blue "sky" above that. Just a note...when you are blending very lightly on Very Vanilla Cardstock, like I did with the "sky", the vanilla can bring in a little bit of a yellow tinge. I wasn't thinking about that when I made the card.

Another retiring item I used is the Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins. I felt like they helped to pull in the Bumblebee color of the sun. And by the way, I used the Ladybug Builder Punch to create the bunny, the sun, the clouds, and the little berm. It's a pretty handy little punch...AND it will be carrying over in the upcoming 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. To make the little bunny tail, I applied a Mini Glue Dot to the back side of our white Frayed Ribbon, and then just cut out around the glue dot. Then all you have to do is adhere it to the bunny's behind.
