A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Hello Pumpkin

Welcome to our SEPTEMBER 2020 #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Each month we share alternate projects using Stampin' Up!'s Paper Pumpkin Kit! We usually hop on the last Thursday of the month. My alternate project is a Mini Candy Cauldron.

UPDATE: You can find the Video TUTORIAL for the cauldrons HERE

Our Paper Pumpkin kit for July was called Hello Pumpkin. It came with supplies to create 20 "cracker" containers, which could be decorated either for Fall or Halloween. Below is a picture of how the projects would look if you make them according to the kit directions.

My cauldrons were made by cutting a "cracker" die cut in half, adhering the halves together, then getting a little creative with snipping and glueing. The bottom of each cauldron has a 1-1/2" Circle Punch, punched from Basic Black Cardstock - both on the inside of the cauldron, and again on the bottom of the cauldron - which holds the pieces together in the bowl shape.

I cut apart a few pieces from the bottom of the bowl shape, and made little cauldron "legs" from them. It takes a little dexterity to make some tiny folds in them, but they fit rather perfectly. The Multipurpose Liquid Glue is key in this project, as it allows time to get the pieces arranged in just the right position.

I added a little "handle" to each cauldron using a 1/2"x5-1/4" piece of Basic Black Cardstock, adhered once again with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I also added some gray tissue paper inside each cauldron, before I tucked in 3 Lindt Truffles. The Hazelnut truffles are the perfect color for the Cinnamon Cider gingham cauldron, and the Orange truffles are a great match for the Pumpkin Pie colored cauldron. (I'm sure pumpkin spice truffles would be good, too...but gross, lol.)

I did take the time last night to do a video walkthrough of the Hello Pumpkin kit on my Facebook Business Page. You can click the image below if you'd like to go directly to that video.
