Third Thursdays Blog Hop - Spring has Sprung!

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is Spring Has Sprung! Our posts will feature projects with a Spring theme.
{you'll find Product Purchase Links for current items I've used, below the Blog Roll}

My project is once again a card I completed at a shoe box swap with some fellow demonstrators. The Painted Poppies stamp set and coordinating Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. And even though the ink and coordinating color for the patterned paper is Blackberry Bliss, I threw in a little bit of our Purple Posy Cardstock to lighten up the design.

It's a pretty straightforward card, but if you are recreating it, you'll want to ink up that splash stamp  that goes behind the flowers with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad, and stamp it off onto scratch paper once or even twice, before stamping the image down on the card. That will give you a much lighter shade that won't drown out your poppies.

The sentiment is from the Heartfelt stamp set, and it's punched out with the Pretty Label Punch. To give it a little more dimension, I sponged around the edges of the label using a Stampin' Sponge that was dabbed into the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad - and then patted the inked sponge on scratch paper until it was pretty light. You can always add more color, but you can't take it away, so remember to start with just a light application of ink at first. The label is also decorated with a couple of small Basic Pearls, to keep things light and delicate.

Here's one last closer look at the whole card. Don't forget your Medium Whisper White Envelopes for mailing your Spring cards! Getting back to Snail Mail is a great way to beat the beat the feelings of isolation you may be feeling right now.
