Welcome to the May 2019 We Create In Color 2018-2020 Blog Hop!!! This month we are creating projects with the 2018-2020 In Colors! My card features the Lovely As A Tree stamp set, which is the oldest stamp set in our current Annual Catalog...and, it is RETIRING this year!!! The All Things Thanks stamp set I used for the greeting is also RETIRING this year. Grab those sets while you still can! {scroll to the bottom of this post for ALL product purchase links}
This is another easy card, using mostly just stamps, ink, and paper. Well, to be honest, one piece of "paper" I used is actually a baby wipe. And, I did use one punch, to get the twinkly stars. It's what I'd probably call "sloppy stamping", and I'm usually too much of a control freak to go with it...but I'm feeling crappy again, and a bit loopy on pain pills, so #maximumeffort is not gonna be a thing right now--making it a perfect time for this card!
The stars were punched from Silver Glimmer Paper, using the Twinkle Builder Punch (which also has a crescent moon shape that I didn't use), and adhered using the teensiest dab of Tombow Liquid Glue under each one. I have to tell you, I love the heck out of our Glimmer Paper, because I'm one of those people who believes paper crafting is all fun and games until someone gets glitter in their eye. That stuff hurts like a cuss word. Or two, or three. No, it's gonna be a four-alarm cuss word if that happens. But the glitter on our Glimmer Paper really stays put, so it's always fun and games when you use it!!!
Moving right along...the trees and the greeting are stamped with the StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad, onto Glossy Cardstock - which is also RETIRING! You need this cardstock for the Reinker/Baby Wipe Technique I used for the background on this card, so stock up while you can. Oh, and the whole layer of Glossy Cardstock is adhered to the Blueberry Bushel Cardstock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. (TIP: make sure to grab the StazOn Jet Black Ink Refill at the same time you buy your inkpad, to keep it in prime condition! I recommend you *always* get a reinker for every inkpad you buy.)

And now, I'll get to what I probably should have shared first, which is the background of the card. All I did was take the Ink Refills for each of the 2018-2020 In Colors, and squeeze a few drops on a neatly folded baby wipe in the order I wanted...then I swiped over the card front with the inked up wipe. It's super simple - you can use the same inked baby wipe over and over again. I wanted to show you a video, but I gotta call it a day for now. If you want to hop over to My Facebook Business Page and Like it, you can set up your Notifications and hopefully you'll get a heads-up when I do a Facebook Live for you on this sometime in the next couple of days.

ReplyDeleteI love how you used the colors! Great card!
ReplyDeleteYour card is really really pretty. I love the added stars and your beautiful swiped background. However, I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead and I really want to add some little zombie walkers every time I see this stamp. Ha ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunset. Love this set. Sad to see it go.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background. I love the vibrant colors and Lovely as a Tree is the perfect stamp set to go with it. :)
