Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Flowers & Leaves

Welcome to the May 2019 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, featuring FLOWERS & LEAVES! You'll see projects from around the world--but I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month. For this hop, I featured a few upcoming products that will be debuting in the NEW Stampin' Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog on June 4th. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post!}

The upcoming stamp set with the momma and baby panda is called Wildly Happy, and it is wildly adorable! I got this set for FREE last month at a Stampin' Up! training event called OnStage. The leaves in my sample are from the upcoming Verdant Green stamp set, and coordinating upcoming Garden Lane Designer Series Paper, as well as the upcoming Bird Ballad Trinkets...which actually coordinate with another product suite but the little leaves make a great accent on this project.

To color the momma and baby panda, I first stamped the image with the StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad onto Whisper White Cardstock. Then I colored onto a Clear Block with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, and picked up that ink with a Blender Pen to color the image. (you could also color with the marker on the outside of a stamp case, or a cello bag, to lay down the ink for your Blender Pen) I got the ink from the marker, because StazOn Jet Black ink will not work with the Blender Pens. Our Memento Tuxedo Black Ink will blend a little bit, but not as nicely as the ink from the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. After coloring a bit, I actually went back over the parts I wanted to be the darkest black, with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker itself.

If you look very closely, you'll see that the entire background of the Mint Macaron Cardstock base is stamped with a little vine and leaves from the Verdant Garden stamp set. I used the Mint Macaron Ink Pad for that, stamping OFF once before stamping the card base. The little metallic Bird Ballad Trinket of leaves is adorned with pieces of edging I trimmed away from the Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon. That's the ribbon you see going under the panda layer, across the card. I adhered the Trinket to the card front with Mini Glue Dots that I sort of rolled up so they'd be hidden under the leaves.

Stampin' Supplies: Wildly Happy Cling Mount Stamp Set, Verdant Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set, Garden Lane Designer Series Paper, Bird Ballad Trinkets, (all previous products will be available to customers June 4th). (the following products are all currently available) Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, Blender Pens, StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad & Ink Refill, Whisper White Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock, Mint Macaron Cardstock, Mint Macaron Ink Pad, Black Glitter Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, SNAIL Adhesive, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer - RETIRING, StazOn Stamp Cleaner, Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist, Simply Shammy, Grid Paper.
