Welcome to the 9th Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! We publish the hop the first Friday of every month! You'll see projects from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world in this blog hop. My name is Kimberley Morris, and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA).
This month our theme is Sorry You're Leaving. We've each picked some Retiring Products that we're sad to see leaving the catalog on May 31st. It's a bittersweet farewell, as the 2017-18 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog debuts June 1st, with TONS of amazing NEW product!
My project this month is a Basket of Mother's Day Cards, and they feature the stamp set Crazy About You (available in wood-mount, clear-mount, AND photopolymer), along with the coordinating Flower Medallion Punch, Hello You Thinlits Dies, Kraft 12x12 Cardstock, and the 2015-2017 Retiring In Colors. {note: if you click on the link for a product in this post, and the item page does not come up in my store, it is no longer available...sorry!}

My basket is created from just one sheet of Kraft 12x12 Cardstock, and I actually used it as an Easter basket for my step-daughter. If you don't want to do this project for Mother's Day, I think the basket works well through Spring and Summer. I'm just about finished reorganizing my stamp room, so I hope to get a video tutorial up for the basket soon. Feel free to subscribe to my blog via email, and you'll get my posts in your Inbox, so you can be notified when the tutorial is ready :-)
For simplicity, I used a similar layout for all of my cards, but you don't have to do that. I figured out 10 different cards I wanted to make, that would be easy to make in multiples. The basket will hold at least 20 foldover cards and envelopes, if the cards aren't too terribly thick (which you really don't want anyway, as it will require extra postage for the sender). Or, you could make just one set of cards, and maybe tuck some other little gifts towards the front of the basket. You could make all of them into Thank You cards for a new bride, new mom, new graduate. You could make them all Happy Hello cards for someone who has just moved house, so they can tell everyone their new address. And that's just a few ideas--see how versatile this project can be?? I plan to show you each of the cards more closely on a separate post, so if you subscribe to my blog via email, you'll get that notification, too.
Don't forget to sign the backs of your cards before you send them or give them away. I love this little greeting from the Better Than Email photopolymer stamp set, it's truly a keeper! (and it's also RETIRING, so you'll want to get yours before it's gone for good)
I also want to put a little plug in here for the #MakeACardSendACard campaign Sara Douglass (Stampin' Up! CEO) recently initiated. Consider that you can help others get involved, who don't want to actually MAKE a card, if you GIFT them a basket of cards THEY can SEND! Yes, I love making them, and my mom loved making them (she passed in 2011), but my mother-law has no interest in making cards. She does, however, enjoy SENDING cards. So, if you find yourself heavy on the making end, and not so solid on the sending end...remember you can OUTSOURCE IT by gifting those handmade cards! Lol.
The Crazy About You stamp set is rather unique in that it is available in all 3 stamp styles, wood-mount, clear-mount, and photopolymer. As a demonstrator, I prefer to invest in wood-mount stamp sets, so I only have to mount the stamps once, and each image is ready to be stamped in a class setting. To me, the wood-mount stamp is a piece of art in and of itself, so it's also an aesthetic issue. Plus, the red rubber is so sturdy, it will last a lifetime. And this really is a set you can use for a lifetime--there are so many sayings, from Valentine's Day through Father's Day (including Graduation!). Seriously, you NEED this stamp set, and the coordinating punch, and dies!!!

What a fantastic project, Kimberley. A great way to showcase the retiring products and a handy present too. Love that you describe it as outsourcing!
