April 2013 Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Kit: Seriously

I got my Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail today--I so LOVE the exclusive stamps we get in these kits :-) This kit comes with a big stamp that says "Seriously", and then two little phrases, one that says "you kick booty", and another that says "love your guts". And I am a total blue-a-holic, so I am just swooning over the color scheme.

If you didn't get this month's Seriously Kit, I'm sorry...but I did give you fair warning ;-) You can make up for it, though, just use the link below to JOIN before the 10th of next month, to get that month's kit. No, we won't know in advance what's in the kit, and Yes, you will get a Welcome Kit your first month. But, I do have a special service available for you--if you tell me you'd like to get the monthly unique kit in addition to your Welcome Kit the first month, you can buy it directly from me! I'll need to receive your $24.95 payment before the 10th of the month deadline to secure your kit. (in fact, anyone can buy any monthly kit without subscribing, as long as I get your payment by that same deadline!)

You can read a little more about Paper Pumpkin HERE, including the BONUSES you can get exclusively from me, by becoming one of my Paper Pumpkin subscribers. I only have a few Charter Member spots available, so subscribe today to secure your SPECIAL GIFTS!

Super Easy Mother's Day Stationery Box Tutorial

This is an oldie but a goodie, and extremely versatile! The box is made from one sheet of card stock, and you can doll it up, or just leave it lean and clean. The box will hold 8-12 cards and their respective envelopes, and is sized to hold standard (5-1/2" x 4-1/4") card sets. However, you can save time and money when you fill the box with Notecards & Envelopes. (each package has 20 cards and envelopes, I suggest splitting it in half and tucking 10 cards and envelopes in each box). A few years ago I made several of these for a Mother's Day luncheon, if I remember correctly, up to 9 Ferrero Rocher candies tuck nicely down in the bottom. I mean, handmade cards are pretty, but you can EAT chocolate! So maybe, diet = cards; no diet = candies??? You decide ;-)

When you look at the tutorial, you'll see my sample from a few years ago. (love that Baja Breeze card stock, but it's retiring and appears to be sold out already!) The cards and envelopes in the old box are standard size, so you can see how they fit compared to the Notecards & Envelopes I have in this current box. Also, I used Sticky Strip on the old box, but I used Tombow Multi Glue to put this one together, and it holds just great. And on this one, I used about 8" of ribbon to tie through the handle, just for reference. Stay tuned for a look at some simple coordinating cards you can tuck inside...

2013-2014 Color Refresh Ink Pad Labels - Free PDF

Are you excited about Stampin' Up!s 2013-2014 Color Refresh? I sure am! I'm pulling out my stash of color products from previous years and reorganizing all my shelves and displays! In case you missed it, I just posted some updated color sampler cards HERE.

In this post, I'm featuring my Color Collection Labels PDF: print it out on Avery 5160 Return Address Labels, then cover with laminate if you choose, then punch out each color with the Word Window Punch. I use the labels for the end of my ink pads so I don't have to squint to see the names (see the picture below), and they also work great for labeling card stock on your shelves, or on hanging file tabs :-) There is a watermark on the file so you'll know where it came from in case you have questions later, but you'll only see the watermark when you look at the file on your computer--it will not print. TIP: Be sure your PDF print dialog is set to print at 100%, which is the same as Page Scaling: None. Always print a "test" sheet to check margins and spacing before printing out on label stock.

Here are the previous years' Color Collection Labels, in case you want/need them:
2012-2013 Color Collection Labels PDF (current year)
2011-2012 Color Collection Labels PDF (last year)

Remember, the 10 Retiring Colors (Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, River Rock, and Pretty in Pink) are only available while supplies last...this includes all color products such as ink pads, reinkers, markers, card stock, embellishments (brads, ribbon, etc), and Designer Papers. So, SHOP NOW to grab the color products you want, before they are SOLD OUT! (some color products are already sold out, so if you can't find it in my ONLINE STORE, it is gone--so sorry!)

Remember to use Hostess Code SRCCDR6U to qualify to become
one of my Dynamic Dozen with your $100+ order!!!

2013 Color Refresh Eighth Sheet Color Collection Samplers

A couple years ago I made some Color Collection cards sized to fit at the back of the Color Coach card set. I have updated these for the upcoming 2013-2014 Color Refresh, in case you'd like to start reorganizing before the catalog debuts on May 31st. You can get your FREE Printable PDF for these cards below the picture. {The picture shows the 2011-2012 cards, just so you can see the format--the collections have all been updated for 2013-2014 on the PDF.}

UPDATED: for 2013-2014 Color Refresh

Click HERE to download 2013-2014 Color Collection Cards PDF
(cards only, no colors or product included)

The file above contains three pages. I have added a watermark so you'll know where they came from if you have questions. For your convenience, the watermark is only visible when you are looking at the file on your computer, it does not print. If you are only going to be printing out a set for your own personal use, just print out the first page. If you are a demonstrator and are mass producing sets for downline or customer use, you'll find pages 2 and 3 convenient for volume. Please note, these files are not for commercial use--you may only use them for yourself, or charts you are giving away for free. TIP: Be sure you print these at 100%, which is the same as Page Scaling set to None.

The cards are designed to be cut to 4-1/4" wide by 2-3/4" tall, so that you can get 8 equal size cards from a letter sized sheet of card stock. I printed them onto Whisper White Card Stock, then punched out each individual color of card stock using the Small Heart Punch, which fits perfectly in each section. You can punch a hole in the top corner of each card and put them all on a ring, if you like. And at this size, you can add them to the back of your Color Coach cards (which already include a ring). I want to stress that the Color Coach is an amazing tool for coordination, color comparison, and color combination, and these cards I've made have a different purpose--they display "real-life" product samples, and Color Collection round-ups.

I am also rounding up my previous years' cards below,
in case you want them for your records:
2012-2013 Catalog Year Color Collection Cards PDF (current year)
2011-2012 Catalog Year Color Collection Cards PDF (last year)

Stay tuned...I have some 2013-2014 Color Refresh Labels coming up later today...

METHOD 2: JOIN Stampin' Up! and choose an extra $30 of product in your Starter Kit!

*Now, before you get all panicky over the thought of cleaning your house and having people over as a HOST, I have two other options you can choose from: you are welcome to Have a Party At My Place* (in Colorado Springs), or you can HOST a Virtual Party with Me (we'll do it ALL online)! And with EITHER option, you can use Stampin' Up!'s new Hostess Code to gather orders from friends and family who are NOT local, and include those orders in your Party! And to sweeten the deal, with EITHER option, I will provide links to your Workshop Video--so everyone you want to invite, can see ALL the demonstrations associated with your Party :-) When you have a Virtual Party, you'll still have to do a little work, like helping me pick the projects we'll make, and getting your invitation list to me so we can share the video links, but that should be a breeze.

When you Have a Party At My Place, or at your place, you and your guests actually get to MAKE projects for FREE and TAKE them home with you! We call those "Make & Takes". Local hands-on parties are usually much more successful at interesting new people in stamping, because they get to experience how fun and easy it is to actually use the product. So, I would heartily encourage you to incorporate the physical Party into your Hosting plan...but you are free to have a totally Virtual Party if that suits you best :-)

The JOIN option is a super simple decision and online checkout. Read below to find out a little more about the perks when you Become a Demonstrator, then feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns :-)

Another Look at Stampin' Up!'s Color Refresh

Look at the pretty graphic I made for you...please tell me you like it...? I thought this might be a fun way to see exactly what's leaving, and what's coming in. I made it in My Digital Studio. You should seriously get this program, it's only $19.95 and has TONS (over $500 worth) of content!!! Some of the colors shown below are not actually in My Digital Studio yet--at least Soft Sky isn't--so I used an RGB color code equivalent I had on file for that one.  I also made a guess that the new Smoky Slate is going to be about the same color as our retired Going Gray. But don't worry, Stampin' Up! is going to give us a FREE update for My Digital Studio on May 1st, to make sure we all have those colors available to just pick and click!

Nine of the 10 Refreshing Colors are coming into the Core Colletion of 40 colors, from In Color Collections. As you can see, four of those nine colors are from our current 2011-2013 In Color Collection: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder. The other five are In Colors from previous years: Blushing Bride & Pear Pizzazz from 2010, Bermuda Bay & Crushed Curry from 2009, and Soft Sky from 2008. Smoky Slate is a NEW color, and it's a true gray, just lighter than Basic Gray.

Remember, color products in the 10 Retiring Colors are available ONLY while supplies last! Several products (most notably single color reinkers) are already SOLD OUT, as well as card stock. In fact, Night of Navy card stock has been discontinued, and if you currently have that item on backorder, it may not be able to be filled. If that is the case, you will be issued a refund--so sorry for any inconvenience!

Oh, Hello Simple Cards

Sometimes we get so caught up in using all the "pretties" at our disposal, we miss the chance to get several cards made quickly. I know I have missed plenty of opportunities to send out a card because I get too caught up in the idea of making each card an individual masterpiece. So, today's post might be more aptly named carpe card, or 'seize the card'. Here are two very quick and easy cards, using the same colors and layout, and even the same stamp set...I just used different greetings. I even saved time by using the pre-cut and pre-scored Notecards & Envelopes:

{Click on Image to See it Full-Size}

Stampin' Supplies: Oh Hello stamp set (wood-mount or clear-mount), Notecards & Envelopes, Calypso Coral ink pad, Pool Party ink pad, Island Indigo ink pad, Silver Buttons, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots (to attach button), Paper Snips (to cut thread). (don't forget to get your Clear Blocks if you order clear-mount stamps!)

Sneak Peek: NEW Wood-Mount Cases

Introducing Stampin' Up!'s new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These sleek, beautiful, new cases are the same proportion as the clear-mount cases and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. The full-size wood-mount case is the same height as a clear-mount case, and the half-size wood-mount case is half the height, so you can stack one half-size on top of the other to reach the same height (as shown in the picture above). Just like the clear-mount cases, when you order a stamp set, the case will have thumbnail images and the stamp set name on the spine.

Starting May 31st ALL wood-mount* sets will come in this new packaging. Empty cases will be also be available for purchase on May 31st. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets!!! A pack of four half-size cases (3-3/4"h x 5-1/2"d) will be available for $4.95 and a pack of four full-size cases (7-1/2"h x 5-1/2"d) will be available for $6.95. *Translated stamp sets such as French, Spanish, or German, are only available in clear-mount.

Check out Stampin' Up!'s preview video below, and remember, if you are getting this blog post in an email, you'll need to click on the post title to come to my blog to view the video :-)

Another NEW Photopolymer Stamp Set: Bombs Away Birthday

Yes, Stampin' Up! has done it AGAIN! Thanks to the warm welcome for our previous photopolymer stamp set, we now have another one: Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set. There are 7 quirky and amusing images for only $13.95. Clear Block C and Clear Block H are recommended for use with this stamp set.

Here's a refresher on the Designer Typeset Photopolymer Stamp Set that came out last month in case you've missed it in all the hubbub. It includes a whopping 57 pieces, and it is recommended to use Clear Block A, Clear Block B, Clear Block G, Clear Block F, and Clear Block I with it. (If you want to just get the entire Clear Block Bundle so you'll have them on hand, the price of that Bundle reflects a 15% Savings!) There are some cool tricks you can do with this stamp set, because the photopolymer is pliable. You can can bend the stamps so that images will stamp in an arc, for instance, the arrow, the banner, or the pennants! I'll post a video soon showing these and more tricks, and tips. In the meantime, enjoy Stampin' Up!'s video at the end of this post :-)

Deadline for April Paper Pumpkin: April 10th

Yes, that magical time is almost upon us again--time for Paper Pumpkin! Paper Pumpkin is a unique monthly 30-minute craft escape, delivered directly to your door each month for $19.95! All you'll need to provide is a little adhesive, and fairy dust, if that's your thing ;-)

The deadline for April's unique kit is April 10th at 11:59pm MT.  Go to MyPaperPumpkin.com and choose me, Kimberley Morris (in Colorado Springs, CO), as your demonstrator for Paper Pumpkin!!!

When you choose me as your Paper Pumpkin demonstrator, you get Fun Bonuses, like: a link to a Free Printable Insert to label a Clear-Mount Stamp Case for Paper Pumpkin stamp storage, qualify for Coronation Gifts and Glass Slipper Surprise Gifts, earn Paper Pumpkin Royalty (Loyalty) Rewards, get Plump Your Pumpkin Exclusive Offers, and get links to Two Private Videos Monthly--one to walk through the kit project assembly (like this one), and a second one with instructions for alternate layouts/projects using the kit supplies, and even some of the packaging!

Some Really Important Stuff You Want to Know:
• Everyone's first kit is the Welcome Kit, which includes Clear Mount Block D
• You are NOT billed until your kit ships (on or around 15th)
• Your subscription will auto-renew for your convenience
• You can skip a month (just Update Quantity to 0 by deadline), or cancel at ANYTIME
• Most kits will contain items exclusive to Paper Pumpkin
• Kits will not be previewed--experience the SURPRISE and DELIGHT each month
• Projects types will vary: stuff like cards, 3D items, mini journals, and more
• Each kit includes everything you need: ink, cut & scored items, stamps, etc.
• Available to United States shipping addresses only

Also, if you would like to purchase ONLY the unique April Paper Pumpkin Kit directly from me, the deadline for me to receive your payment is April 10th by 11:30pm MT. The cost is $24.95, which covers the cost of the kit, plus turn-around Priority Mail shipping to your address. This option is designed for my new Paper Pumpkin subscribers who would like to get the Welcome Kit AND a unique kit their first month! However, anyone is welcome to take advantage of this opportunity to get the unique monthly kit without subscribing. If you don't get/have the Welcome Kit, or the Try It Kit, you will need to get Clear Mount Block D or its equivalent, to use the clear-mount stamps in your Paper Pumpkin kit.

These all-inclusive kits (except a bit of adhesive for certain pieces) are GREAT in so many ways, especially as a quick craft with kids or grandkids! Because everything is already cut and scored, and many items are self-adhesive, it's super easy to just place-and-stick. I love the portability--I don't have a TV in my craft room, and with Paper Pumpkin I can just grab my kit and take it upstairs to play with while watching a show with my family :-) And honestly, even though I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for over 18 years, there is just something SO enjoyable, and yes, even magical, about being able to sit down and open a box with all the supplies I need in it for a project. I hope you'll join me on my Paper Pumpkin adventure!

Calling for my DYNAMIC DOZEN!!!

It is a *SUPER* exciting time with Stampin' Up! right now...so much going on in the past few months! I try not to talk too much about frustrating personal issues on my blog, but you may remember a few months back, I posted regarding my health challenge. While I was blessed with relief from the worst pain within weeks, I still have a full schedule staying on top of the health regimen that keeps me pain-free. Just recently, I have undertaken a juice feast/fast to kick start the healing. Since I became pain-free, I have done my best to keep up with my Stampin' Up! business and blog, but it's really hard doing this alone. At this time I would like to reach out and ask for your HELP!

I have been unable to maintain a level of sales recently that will allow me to take advantage of the benefits of the title I have reached with Stampin' Up!, and I have a shortfall of about $1200. In that spirit, I'm reaching out for my DYNAMIC DOZEN. Have you been waiting to purchase your Stampin' Up! supplies? Have you had your eye on the Big Shot for a while now?? Do you have a tax refund coming your way??? If so, then you may be one of my DYNAMIC DOZEN! You see, if just twelve of you decide it's time to get that Big Shot by April 23rd, you would not only get it with FREE Shipping April 6th through 8th, you would help propel my sales back up to a level I can maintain :-) If you have gotten any value from my demonstratorship over the past 18 years, from my sharing, from my blog, from the free tips, tutorials and videos that I have shared over the years, I'd love for you to consider becoming one of my DYNAMIC DOZEN.

So, what's in it for you, you ask? I am SOOOOOO not going to be greedy with these benefits!
  • ALL of you will receive a special gift in the mail from me, including your FREE COPY of the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog, plus
  • THREE of you will receive $65 of Stampin' Up! physical product of your choice, and
  • ONE of you will receive 50% off ANY ITEM in the catalog!!!

There are only going to be TWELVE entries TOTAL for these FOUR PRIZES! The first 12 increments of $100 in orders which use the Hostess Code SRCCDR6U in my ONLINE STORE will be the only entries. I'm not very good at statistics, but that looks to me like you have a one in three chance of winning :-D In addition to those benefits, your sales should help me procure some computer & equipment upgrades so I can more easily share videos with you, and improve the lighting quality! My DYNAMIC DOZEN will be my first go-to list for suggestions on upcoming video topics! And, ALL members of my DYNAMIC DOZEN will also be able to get up to three FREE video calls with me (or local one-on-one consultations), to assist you with whatever stamping topic, project, or technique you choose :-O That's like getting THREE FREE STAMP CLASSES!!!

RULES: For every $100 in orders you place from my ONLINE STORE, using the HOSTESS CODE SRCCDR6U from now until the 11:50pm MT April 23rd, 2013 deadline, you get ONE entry. Only the first 12 full increments of $100* will gain an entry in the DYNAMIC DOZEN contest. This means, if you order $200 in merchandise, you get TWO of the 12 entries in the drawing, and so on. Each $100 increment is counted per order. This means you cannot order $50 on one order, then another $50 later, and add them together for an entry. Please note, when you place an ONLINE ORDER with a Hostess Code (such as SRCCDR6U), your order ships immediately. The gifts and prizes will ship later, separately. If there are less than a dozen entries, participants will get the gifts and free consultations, and prizes may or may not be awarded depending on sales. You must live in a United States mailing/delivery area to take advantage of this contest. This contest is through Kimberley Morris as an independent demonstrator, and not sponsored or endorsed by Stampin' Up!. *$100 is calculated from product total only, tax, and shipping & handling, are excluded.
