Christmas Card Club 1: Joyful Mosaic

Below is the fourth of five cards we made last weekend at my Christmas Card Club Session 1 (you can check out my Event Calendar for details on upcoming sessions).

I love the coordinating stamp and punch bundles, which you can probably tell, because this card features yet another one! This card design was inspired by one I saw in a demonstrator-only gallery called Stampin' Connection. Instructions:
1) Cut a sheet of Whisper White card stock to 4-1/4" x 11", then score to create a card base that folds to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" with the fold on the left.
2) Cut a sheet of Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack (white polka dot pattern) to 1-1/2" x 5-1/2". You can get three of these pieces from one sheet, you'll need two strips per card.
3) Adhere one patterned paper strip across the top of the card front, and one across the bottom.
4) Cut two strips of Silver Glimmer Paper to 1/2" x 5-1/2".
5) Cut a sheet of Whisper White card stock to 3-1/4" x 5-1/2".
6) Stamp 'Joyful Tidings' image from Christmas Messages stamp set near bottom right corner of white card stock layer, as shown.
7) Turn stamped layer over, and adhere Silver Glimmer strips to the back, ensuring the sparkly side of the glimmer paper faces the front. Let each strip overlap the white layer by about 1/4". (you may find Sticky Strip to be the most convenient and best holding adhesive for this)
8) Center this layer on the card front, and adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals.
9) Stamp a mosaic shape from the Mosaic Madness stamp set, in Tempting Turquoise ink, onto Coastal Cabana card stock, three times. Leave enough room between images to punch them out without cutting into each other.
10) Punch out the three stamped mosaic shape images with the Mosaic Punch.
11) Place a Stampin' Dimensional in the back center of each mosaic punched image, and adhere each to card front, in the orientation shown.
12) Using the Crumb Cake marker, scribble a string coming from the top of the white layer, to the top of each mosaic punched piece.
13) Also scribble a loop to each side of each "string", just above the mosaic piece. Then add a "handle bar mustache" under the loops, to complete a "bow" for each "ornament".
14) Place a self-adhesive Rhinestone at the center of each ornament, as shown.
15) Address your Medium Whisper White Envelope, put your card inside, affix appropriate postage--and SEND!

Instructions:
1) Cut Baked Brown Sugar card stock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", then score to create a card base that folds over to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" with the fold on the left.
2) Cut Very Vanilla card stock to 4" x 5-1/4", then run through Big Shot, using Northern Flurry Embossing Folder.
3) Stamp 'Wishing' sentiment from Christmas Messages at lower right of embossed layer, in Raspberry Ripple ink.
4) Adhere embossed layer to front of card base, using Stampin' Dimensionals.
5) Stamp two ornaments onto scrap Very Vanilla card stock--one in Gumball Green, one in Raspberry Ripple.
6) Punch out stamped ornaments, and adhere each to embossed layer with a Stampin' Dimensional at the back center.
7) Add self-adhesive Pearls to center of either or both ornaments, and the center of one snowflake, as desired.
8) Address your Medium Very Vanilla Envelope, put your card inside, affix appropriate postage--and SEND!

Christmas Card Club 1: Jolly Santa Card

Today I am featuring another card from my Christmas Card Club Session 1 from last weekend. It features the Tags 4 You stamp set, which is also available in a Bundle with the Label Bracket Punch at 15% OFF (choose either wood-mount or clear-mount bundle). I'll be sure to show you more fun with this stamp set and punch bundle combo later, but for today...on with the Jolly Santa Card...

Instructions:
1) Cut Real Red card stock to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and score in half to create a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card with the fold on the left side.
2) Run the front of the card through the Big Shot, using the Stripes Embossing Folder. Set this card base aside.
3) Cut a shape from Whisper White card stock, using the largest of the Apothecary Accents Framelits.
4) Line up the shape in the Stampin' Trimmer to cut in half (at 2-1/2").
5) Stamp Holly Jolly Christmas image from Tags 4 You stamp set in Real Red at top center of one of the halved shapes, oriented as shown. (TIP: line up the pointy bottom tip of the stamp image with the pointy bottom tip of the die cut, for simple centering.) Set this piece aside to ensure the ink dries.
6) Run scrap pieces of Basic Black card stock through the Big Shot, covering the smallest round button in the Sweet Buttons Embosslit. You'll need two buttons, but you should only run one piece of card stock through the embosslit at a time. Set these small pieces aside somewhere you'll find them again!
7) Cut another piece of Basic Black card stock to 1" x 4-1/4". Adhere this across the card front, about 1/2" up from the bottom of the card base. Mini Glue Dots are the perfect adhesive throughout this project.
8) Using the 1" Square Punch, punch a square near the edge of a piece of Brushed Gold card stock. Then, flip over your Curly Label Punch and slide the card stock with the punched square hole down into the punch, centering the square hole in the Curly Label Punch outline, and punch out. This will give you the shape you'll use for the belt buckle.
9) Place a Mini Glue Dot at the back of the left and right sides of the buckle ONLY. Center buckle over top of 1" x 4-1/4" Basic Black piece on card, and press to adhere.
10) Take the Holly Jolly stamped piece and run it through the Big Shot, using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.
11) Adhere this piece to the top center of the card front, using Mini Glue Dots.
12) Adhere the two buttons to the card front as shown, using Mini Glue Dots.
13) Address your Medium Whisper White Envelope, put your card inside, affix appropriate postage--and SEND!

Christmas Card Club 1: Christmas Star Card

This was the favorite of the 5 designs from my Christmas Card Club Session 1. It features the Christmas Star stamp from our 2013 Single Stamps Holiday Collection, and a greeting from a stamp set called Greetings of the Season (available in wood-mount or clear-mount). You won't find that stamp set in any catalogs, but you can find it with several other holiday items which are only pictured on THIS FLYER.

Instructions:
1) Cut Naturals White* card stock to 4" x 5-1/4". (I highly recommend Naturals White card stock for this project, as its porous nature best facilitates quick drying and best prevents smearing of the Encore Silver Metallic ink--use other card stock at your own risk!)
2) Stamp Christmas Star at top left in Pool Party ink, then at bottom right in Soft Sky ink.
3) Stamp remaining two stars as shown, in Encore Silver Metallic ink, and set layer aside to dry.
4) Cut Soft Sky card stock to 4-1/4" x 11", score in half to create a top-fold card that folds over to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".
5) Cut a strip of Soft Sky card stock to 1" x 3-7/8".
6) Stamp 'Merry Christmas' from Greetings of the Season stamp set, onto 1" x 3-7/8" strip of Soft Sky card stock, in Midnight Muse. Be sure to stamp the greeting near the left edge of the card stock strip.
7) Using Paper Snips, trim away a 'V' notch from the right edge of the card stock strip, as shown.
8) Using a Sponge Dauber (preferred) or a Stampin' Sponge, sponge the outside edges of the Soft Sky card stock strip/banner in Pool Party ink. Also sponge around the star-stamped 4" x 5-1/4" Naturals White card stock in Pool Party ink.
9) Adhere the strip/banner to the Naturals White layer with SNAIL or liquid glue as shown. TIP: leave glue off the "tails" of the banner, if you would like to bend them upward for dimension.
10) Adhere the Naturals White layer onto the front of the Soft Sky foldover card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
11) Adhere Rhinestone Jewels at center of top left star, and over the dot of the 'i' in Christmas, as shown.
12) Address your Medium Whisper White Envelope, put your card inside, affix appropriate postage--and SEND!
