Versatile Greeting Bunny Card

I had a card class at my local library branch yesterday...was free for patrons...and we made 4 different cards. I'm sharing this one first since it's so close to Easter, although this card can be made with a variety of greetings, via the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (available in wood-mount, clear-mount English, or clear-mount French) and coordinating Classic Label Punch.

In my class, I offered 4 different greetings for this card: Happy Easter, Hello Baby, Thinking of You, and Friend to Friend. They are included amongst the 24 greetings in the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, and all the greetings in that stamp set fit in the Classic Label Punch. We stamped the greeting with the Soft Suede ink pad, onto Crumb Cake card stock, to match the card base. The green layer is Pear Pizzazz card stock, which was run through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst embossing folder.

The bunny was punched out of Whisper White card stock with the 1-1/2" Circle Punch for the body, the 1" Circle Punch for the head, and the 1/2" Circle Punch for the tail. The bunny ears are the "tail" piece from the Fox Builder Punch. A wee little brushing of Clear Wink of Stella added just the right amount of glisten to the bunny tail, which was popped up with a Stampin' Dimensional. And the tiny bow was made from the delicate but sturdy Whisper White 1/8" Sheer Ribbon.

I also offered two different colors for the card stock strips at the bottom. The color pictured is Soft Sky card stock, and the other color I offered was Pirouette Pink card stock. A couple of my class attendees chose one strip of each color. So Saffron card stock would also be a lovely soft color you could choose for those strips.

I have to tell you, we have had the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in our catalog for a LONNNGGG time, and we have a new catalog debuting at the beginning of June. Sometime next month we'll be getting a list of Retiring Items from this catalog, and it's always a surprise as to what's on it. Generally, a lot of the oldest stamp sets tend to drop off, so I would be sad--but not surprised--to see this set leave.

Now, you should also know that once that Retiring List comes out, the items on it start selling out fast...so right now is a great time to go through the current catalogs (2017-18 Annual Catalog and 2018 Occasions Catalog) and make sure you get the items you really want.

ONE item that has the tendency to sell out lightning fast, is ink--especially reinkers. We already know that all five of the 2016-2018 In Colors are scheduled to retire: Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, and Sweet Sugarplum. If you are interested in any of those colors, I strongly urge you to BUY THEM NOW...get the ink pads, reinkers, the marker set, and the coordinating card stock. You can browse all the 2016-2018 In Color items HERE in my Online Store.

Tabs for Everything - Congratulations

Just a quick post with two cards using the NEW stamp set Tabs for Everything. This set is ideal for use with the NEW Love Today Planner, and actually comes in BUNDLE (at 10% OFF) with the NEW Circle Tab Punch, but I don't have either of those other products yet...so I was inspired by our most recent demonstrator magazine* (Stampin' Success) to make a couple of stand alone cards with the set.

There are 53 images in this stamp set--though they are each rather small (see stamp set below), so they can fit on the coordinating Circle Tab Punch. To keep the "white space" a little more proportionate, I cut my card size down to a 3-1/2" x 5" foldover. I started by cutting my letter-sized card stock sheet to 7" x 10", to get two foldover cards. To do that, I first cut to get 7" from the 8-1/2" side, which left me a strip of 1-1/2" x 11". I then cut that piece in half, to 3/4" x 11", and then trimmed each piece to only 9" long, to get the two belly bands for the envelopes. Then I cut one inch off the 11" side of my sheet to get a 7" x 10" sheet. I scored along the 7" side at 3-1/2" and then cut the 10" side to 5", so I ended up with (2) pre-scored foldover 3-1/2" x 5" cards.

Tabs for Everything stamp set (53 images)

Ah, yes, the envelopes! Those are made with coordinating card stock, using the Envelope Punch Board. This is a card that might go on or in a gift box, or be handed directly to the recipient as a gift itself--by enclosing a gift card! If I decide to mail it, the entire thing will fit into a Whisper White Medium Envelope. For each envelope, you'll need a 7-1/4" square piece of card stock, which leaves plenty of scrap for strips of colored card stock to use across your cards (mine are 1" x 5").

*So, if you've read this far, let me tell you a little bit about how I got this stamp set, and a Stampin' Up! magazine, for FREE! As a demonstrator, I get the Stampin' Success full-color magazine in my mailbox every quarter. I also get up-to-date articles in a WEEKLY email called Succeed Weekly, which always features new project samples, and sometimes even class instructions! As for the stamp set, I went to a demonstrator event called OnStage in April, and this was one of FOUR stamp sets (among other goodies) I went home with for FREE! There are way more perks than this if you Become a Demonstrator, including at least 20% OFF all commissionable merchandise, PLUS qualifying for Stampin' Rewards on your personal orders. There's no obligation, the Starter Kit is completely customizable, and you get to pick up to $125 in merchandise for only $99 + tax (no shipping). Give it some thought...it's a pretty sweet deal, even if you just get a bunch of new product at a great discount.

Stampin' Supplies: Tabs for Everything stamp set, Crumb Cake card stock, Whisper White card stock, Soft Sky card stock and ink pad, Powder Pink card stock and ink pad, Early Espresso card stock and ink pad, Dapper Denim ink pad, Berry Burst ink pad, Envelope Punch Board, Stitched Shape Framelits (used with Big Shot), Stampin' Trimmer, Fast Fuse Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Belated Little Easter Chick (or Duck?)

I know this is running about a month behind...but, better late than never, right? This sweet little chick made the perfect greeting card for my college kids' care packages. This is yet another design idea I stole borrowed from Stampin' Connection, which is an exclusive free forum for sharing ideas that you can access once you Become a Demonstrator!

This card features the Owl Builder Punch. I trimmed the ear tufts off the top corners of the punched body, for the main piece. I also cut the feet from the body and punched another body out in orange, then stuck those orange feet behind the body shape. I saved one of the little yellow feet I cut off, to use as the feather tuft atop the chick's head. For the wings, I used the "vest" shape from the punch, and cut that in half. Then I tucked a half of the vest under each side of the body. For the nose/beak, I punched out the heart shape, but trimmed the top flat. The eyes were punched from black, but instead of trying to glue tiny white dots onto that, I simply used the White Gel Pen to mark them in place.

ALTERNATE IDEA: I think you could use this card for a new baby by making the chick into a duck. All you need to do is round the end of the beak, and then make the feet triangles (by trimming off the top of the heart shape from the punched image). You might want to slide the wings down a little bit, too.

Stampin' Supplies: Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (I recommend wood-mount, but it also comes in clear-mount), Kraft Notecards & Envelopes, Soft Sky card stock, So Saffron card stock, Wisteria Wonder card stock, Calypso Coral card stock, Basic Black card stock, Whisper White card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, White Gel Pen, Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Basic Rhinestones, Owl Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower shape).
