Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Halloween & Autumn Colors

Welcome to the OCTOBER 2022 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so prices are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Halloween & Autumn Colors! For my project I am featuring the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, and the Rustic Harvest 12"x12" Designer Series Paper. {you'll find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

I made a Mini Kit Kat Treat Holder...it is open ended, so the candy can slide right out. This is a super simple project, and the key is finding a candy with a wrapper that coordinates well with the color of your holder. The treat holder in the center of the picture above is the first one I made, in neutral Crumb Cake Cardstock, and the Soft Suede Ink Pad. I wanted to also show you how it can look with patterned paper, so I used the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper for the ones at the top and bottom of the above pic. The one at the top shows a pattern of the DSP that I colored using Blending Brushes and the following inks: Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, and Cherry Cobbler. The one at the bottom is a light pattern that I stamped on, again using the Soft Suede Ink Pad. The greetings were stamped in the following inks, from top to bottom: Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, and Cajun Craze. Hopefully that will help give you an idea of what colors you might like to use!

To make this holder, you'll start with a 3"x4" piece of cardstock or patterned paper. Then you will score parallel with the 3" side at the following measurements: 1/2", 1", 2-1/4" and 2-3/4". You'll put adhesive on the 1/2" strip and adhere the wrapper closed. I like to use Stampin' Seal, because I hate getting sticky fingers, and a tip for making sure these stayed well adhered is to put Stampin' Seal on each of the two surfaces that are getting adhered together. And, since this is an open-ended treat holder, I applied a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the candy before I slid it into the wrapper - that holds it in place, but is light enough that you can tug the candy out easily.

I chose the Gold & Vanilla Satin Edged Ribbon for all the treat holders, because it coordinates well with all the colors, and the Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins do also. Unfortunately, the Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins are not available right now...I believe they will come back in stock at the end of October. You can easily use the Elegant Faceted Gems instead, and they look great! You can get away with just one gem or sequin, or you could use 3 on each holder, like I did on the top one in the first pic. These make great place setting favors, class or co-worker treats, or even a fun "thank you" for a bank teller, cashier, or delivery person.
