In the Sale-a-Bration Brochure, you will see several groups of products that equal at least $50 (in the US) with pictures of projects you can make with those products. Today I'm featuring the FREE Darling Donkeys Stamp Set, and the related products listed on pages 4-5 of the Brochure, to show a few variations on the samples. The only ink pad I used for all the cards, is the Tuxedo Memento Black Ink Pad, which is great for using with the Stampin' Blends Markers.
As I mentioned, I changed some of the cards from what was pictured in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure. The above card was actually a 3x3 card, but I made it a full-sized card. The hidden trick for this card, is that you can trim around the donkey's head to separate it from the body, and while you're at it you can trim the flower from the right side of his mouth. Then you can put the head back over the body using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals...and just slide it a touch to the left, to cover the other end of the flower. For me, that makes this more of a masculine card..
For the next card, pictured above, I changed the positions of the donkeys, used smaller pieces for the 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper strips, and I just used the Dark marker from my Smokey Slate Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to make little circles for the nails instead of using up a bunch of my 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots. I also did some scoring across the back layer using my Stampin' Trimmer, but I made the marks a little farther apart than on the sample. The most time consuming part of this card was fussy cutting the two donkeys.
The third card I made, pictured above, is pretty straight forward. One of the changes I made was to remove the "pink" strip used on the sample, and use a "brown" strip in its place. Again, that was just me trying to make the card a little less girlie-looking. However, I did use the "pink" for the flower...which is another little trick. I stamped the donkey's head on a scrap piece of the "pink" (Magenta Madness) patterned paper, then cut out just the flower and adhered that over the stamped flower on the focal piece, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The fourth and final card probably has the most change to it. I used the Stampin' Trimmer to score the barn door, then cut strips and little squares to make the 'X' and the trim. It was pretty easy to do, because our Stampin' Trimmer allows you to see through the ruler on the top, so you can do those score lines in the middle without going all the way to the edge of the piece.
Darling Donkeys Project Collection includes: Neutrals 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock (20 sheets, 2 ea of 10 colors), Basic White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock (40 sheets), 2020-2022 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Stack (40 sheets, 8 ea of 5 colors), Memento Ink Pad, Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Combo Pack, and 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (20 ea of 5 colors). NOTE: The Darling Donkeys stamp set (item 155264) is not included in the collection - you will need to choose that as your FREE Sale-a-Bration item on your order.
