Third Thursdays Blog Hop - A Sweet Sale

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is A Sweet Sale! Our posts will feature projects from the current Sale-a-Bration (which runs through Feb 28th), or any other "sweet" NEW products! I'm demonstrating the FREE Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.
{you'll find Product Purchase Links for current items I've used, below the Blog Roll}

I somehow managed to dislocate my hip last week, so it's been rough. The chiropractor mostly set it back in place Monday, but I thought it was just muscle spasms, so I stretched quite a lot over the weekend. It's either still not quite back in place, or I accidentally strained the muscles by stretching, but it still hurts pretty bad and it's hard to get around. So, I'm showing you an old project from THIS POST that I made for now...and as I get my slow self finished with the updated project, I'll drop that in below.

The old project used a bigger box of conversation hearts, but my new project uses the Brach's Tiny Conversation Hearts in the .75 oz box - you can grab these in a 10 pack (see above pic)! The FREE Sale-a-Bration Oh So Ombre 6x6 Designer Series Paper works great for this project. You get 48 sheets, which you are then going to cut in half, to give you 96 sheets that measure 3"x6". One 3"x6" sheet covers one Tiny Conversation Hearts .75 oz box, so you could cover 96 boxes with one package of that patterned paper. TIP: When I wrap the paper around the box, I adhere the paper to itself, so the candy box can just slide out.

To create the box sleeve, I just wrap the patterned paper around the box, and lightly "score" it around the edges of the box, just using my fingers. Then I adhere it to itself using Stampin' Seal Adhesive. (if you need a stronger bond, try Stampin' Seal+ Adhesive) If you want a bow on your box sleeve, you'll want to use at least 18" of the Tulle Polka Dot Ribbon. For a square knot on your box sleeve, 15" of ribbon should do the trick! I think the bow is more girlie, and the knot is more masculine...but that's just me. That ribbon spool contains 10yds of ribbon, which would allow you to make a whopping 200 bows from 18" pieces! The polka dots on the ribbon look great with the little circles on the paper.

And lastly, for the sake of keeping ink expenses low, I used only the Just Jade & Magenta Madness Stampin' Spot 2-Pack. I had to stamp OFF the Just Jade one time before stamping the Tags Tags Tags Stamp Set images on the Basic White Cardstock, otherwise it was just too dark for my liking. The Magenta Madness can either be full strength, or stamped OFF once, it looks good either way to me! You could just use a black ink pad for all of the stamp images if you wanted, or you could choose the individual ink pad colors that specifically coordinate with the patterned paper, which are: Coastal Cabana, Rococo Rose, Granny Apple Green, and Blackberry Bliss.

NOTE: If you wanted a few more colors to choose from, for less than half the full price of individual full-size ink pads, the Classic Assorted Stampin' Spots are a great choice - there are 8 colors in that assortment: Basic Gray, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Shaded Spruce. The Flirty Flamingo looks great with every one of the Oh So Ombre paper colors, and you get the Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green that coordinate with those colors perfectly. Or, you could just choose to stamp all your tags in Basic Gray, which would, of course coordinate with all the colors of the paper.

Stampin' Supplies: Tags Tags Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set, Trio of Tags Dies, FREE Sale-a-Bration Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper, Basic White Cardstock, Just Jade & Magenta Madness Stampin' Spot 2-Pack, Tulle Polka Dot Ribbon, Stampin' Seal (or Seal+ if you prefer), Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (either standard or mini), Paper Snips, Grid Paper, Stampin' Trimmer.
