Third Thursdays Blog Hop - Gratitude & Gatherings

Welcome once again to our Third Thursdays Blog Hop! This month our theme for the hop is Gratitude & Gatherings! Our posts will feature projects related to anything related to Thanksgiving, gratitude, family or friend gatherings, or anything along those lines.

My life has been ridiculous in the last few weeks, so I'm just popping up a really quick card. It's SOOO easy to make a simple, beautiful card with Stampin' Up!'s coordination. For this card, I've let the 12"x12" Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper take center stage. The pumpkin and squash are from one design in the package, and the wood grain/fabric (that the greeting is stamped on) are front/back designs from the same sheet. There are 2 each of 6 different designs in the package, and one side of each sheet has metallic highlights on it.

The patterned paper makes coordination all that much easier, by listing the coordinating Stampin' Up! colors on the back of the chipboard piece that protects the papers in its packaging. From that list, I chose the Cajun Craze Ink Pad, the Cajun Craze Cardstock, and used the neutral StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad for the greeting. Because the greeting mentions "a grateful heart", I wanted to stamp some hearts in the background. I stamped OFF once on my Grid Paper before stamping those in the background so they would be a little lighter. Fortunately, all the images I used on this card come from ONE stamp set - the Banner Year Photopolymer Stamp Set

To add a little more bling, I backed the pumpkin/squash strip with a piece of the Gold Foil Sheets, added a couple of orange colored Holiday Rhinestones, punched the cardstock with the Tailored Tag Punch, and finished it off with the gold trim and mesh cotton ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.

Stampin' Supplies: Banner Year Photopolymer Stamp Set, Sahara Sand Cardstock (for card base), Cajun Craze Cardstock and Ink Pad, StazOn Jet Black Ink Pad, Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper, Metallic Gold Foil Sheets, Tailored Tag Punch, Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, Holiday Rhinestone Assortment (a couple of orange-ish ones), Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' SEAL Adhesive, Paper Snips, Simply Shammy (to clean photopolymer stamps), Grid Paper, Stampin' Trimmer. And don't forget Very Vanilla or Whisper White Medium Envelopes if you will be mailing!

  4. Such a sweet card! I just looked at that pattern in the DSP and thought "I need a card idea with this pattern." Boom! Love the pumpkins paired with the woodgrain and the added pop of texture from the ribbon. Happy Thanksgiving!
