Welcome to the February 2018 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The theme is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My projects this month are a throw back (so appropriate to Thursday) to the Stampin' Up! 2017-18 Annual Catalog, featuring the Pieces & Patterns stamp set (available in wood-mount and cling-mount).
The Pieces & Patterns stamp set coordinates with several items in the Pick A Pattern Suite, including the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper, which I used on both my cards. In fact, I used a 4" square of the same sheet on each of my cards--this first simple note card uses the patterned side.
Stampin' Supplies: Pieces & Patterns stamp set, Sahara Sand card stock, Whisper White card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper, SNAIL Adhesive, Stampin' Trimmer (to cut and score).
Below is my Stepped Up version of this card. Again, I used the 4" square of Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper, this time using the side with the print. I also turned the card to fold over at the top, stamped the coordinating camera image from the stamp set down the side, added a couple of Metallic Enamel Shapes accents, popped the greeting up on Stampin' Dimensionals, and tied a bow with Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine.
TIP: when you want to tie twine or ribbon around a card that doesn't have a firm layer, consider using a hole punch to take out a tiny notch at the fold of the card, through which you can thread your bow.

Cute cards! Love your tip about punching the hole to thread your bow. I like the pattern of the camera stamped vertically too.
ReplyDeleteOkay I love the stepped up version! The cameras are so cool and great tip on the twine!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! I love how easy it is to create a quick card with the designer series paper. I did it last month for a swap.
