A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Positively Picturesque Kit

This month marks our FOURTH #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Our kit this month is called Positively Picturesque, and it came with supplies for EIGHT cards + envelopes, a stamp set (as always), and TWO mini ink pads...including one of the NEW 2017-19 In Colors: Tranquil Tide. The kit also included some sweet woodcuts, and TWO little rolls of washi tape! Once again, I tried to stick closely to the Paper Pumpkin kit supplies...

I used the larger Soft Sky card bases from the kit, and added just a little bit of coordinating card stock, in Whisper White, Powder Pink, and Tranquil Tide. Before I go any further, I just want to acknowledge that I get how you might find the card sexist or inappropriate. It's totally okay if you don't care for it--but know that it was all done in fun :-) And if my sweetie had made this for me, I'd be so flattered! I thought about making it say "You're the TOPS!" but I wanted to limit myself only to the stamp set in the kit, so this came out instead.

To make the bikini top, I flipped over one of the punched out parts of one of the card layers from the kit, and traced the heart shape onto a piece of Powder Pink card stock. I used some Whisper White card stock under the washi tape, and you could trace the heart again onto Whisper White card stock for that, or take the shortcut and punch two circles with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch for that. The washi tape on the bikini top is double layered, to make the pattern a little darker/bolder. The "string" ties on the bikini top were made by folding a 6" strip of washi tape onto itself in thirds. To get the little heart in the center of the bikini top, I stamped the little flower from the stamp set onto Whisper White card stock, using Soft Sky ink, then stamped the heart over that in Tranquil Tide.

The little treat box was also made from one of the card bases in the kit. I have a video showing this same type of box (using a previous Paper Pumpkin kit) HERE. The scoring and cutting measurements for this box are different, but the process is the same. You'll place the card base in landscape orientation to you, and score the long side at 1", 3-1/4", the next score mark is already there for you at 4-1/4", then score at 6-1/2", and then cut off the end at 7-1/2". Turn the card base in portrait orientation to you, and score 1" in from each side. Do any stamping you want on the flat card stock first, then follow the directions on the video to assemble the box.

The heart I used on the top of the box was one of the heart punch outs in the kit, and the washi tape was doubled layered. The strips around the box are Whisper White card stock, with a double layer of washi tape over them, as well. Inside the box are 3 Lindor truffles, nestled inside some of the Soft Sky tissue paper that is wrapped around the Paper Pumpkin kit contents. It's not necessary, but I think it provides an elegant little touch.
