Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Thanks a Bunch

Welcome to the November 2023 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices mentioned are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Thanks a Bunch! This month I am sharing a card using the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper. {you can find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

This card is made using a pattern that works great with our 6"x6" Designer Series Papers that have 4 sheets of each double-sided design. You can make 9 cards from those 4 sheets, but the trick is that you will need to trim a 3/4" strip from the SAME END of 3 of the sheets before you cut the rest of those 3 sheets in 2"x5-1/4" strips. When you go to cut the fourth sheet, make sure to take a look at the direction the pattern on the back side is going. You will want to orient your paper so you can cut (8) strips that are 3/4"x5-1/2" from it, and have the pattern facing the same direction as the pattern on the strips you cut from the first three sheets. I mean, if you want all your cards to look the same. (Note: if you cut a 1/2" strip from the long side of the fourth sheet before you cut your 3/4" strips, you have a more useable leftover piece than you would if you cut that 1/2" off all the strips.)

I wanted to show the All About Autumn Designer Series Paper because it had come back in stock again...but apparently it flew off the shelves again by the time I got this post published! Sheesh. It looks like it might get restocked, but the date says TBD so I'll keep you posted.

We Create Blog Hop - Gratitude & Gatherings

Welcome to the NOVEMBER 2023 "Gratitude & Gatherings" Blog Hop!!! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our theme will focus on projects that have to do Gratitude and/or Gatherings, which could include Thanksgiving, or even just a Thank You Card, like mine! My projects today feature the Fluffiest Friends Stamp Set and coordinating Fluffiest Friends Dies (which you will be able to get in a BUNDLE for a 10% Discount!), which will be available in our Online Exclusives section of My Online Store starting November 7th.

That big curvy bite taken out of the patterned paper is from a die in the Fluffiest Friends Die set that coordinates with the stamp set. I paired these upcoming Online Exclusives with a few products from the Stampin' Up! 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. First and foremost, the stamp set Phrases for All seemed like a perfect compliment to the Fluffiest Friends stamp set. The patterned paper is the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper, which I chose because the kitty is holding a little flower in a pot, and the pattern on the other side of this paper is cute little flowers. You can see a strip of it that I flipped over near the bottom of the card behind the "grass", which is another die in the coordinating set. Actually, you get two of these dies so you can cut out multiple sets of grass strips at a time.

Other Annual Catalog product includes the Crumb Cake Cardstock, and the Basic White Cardstock. I used Mossy Meadow Cardstock for the grass strips because in the same Neutrals color collection as Crumb Cake, so you could grab an assorted pack to make this card if you wanted. I also used the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad for the greeting. I used the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad for the kitty, and also for the flowers I stamped and cut out to place in the space between the die cut grass strips. So, if you wanted to cut down supplies even more, you could stamp the greeting in black...but I feel like the Mossy Meadow preserves the soft feel that the pink stripes are giving the card.

I also used the Tinsel Gems 4-Pack, which includes some Berry Burst gems that I thought would be dark enough to stand out from the pink of the patterned paper, but still coordinate nicely. The ribbon is the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack, which is part of our super popular Zoo Crew Collection Suite. I put the ribbon across the center of the card because I wanted something to sort of ground the cat onto the card so it didn't seem like it was just randomly floating in that cutout space. And finally, I used the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 to color in the kitty and the little flowers. The centers of the little flowers are colored with the Lemon Lime Twist pencil, so it's very subtle, but that helps tie in the ribbon with the rest of the card.

The Fluffiest Friends Dies include shapes to cut around some of the stamp images (everything but the flowers and the bees), but also have a few extra dies like the curvy dome shape and grass strips I told you about. Plus, there are dies for balloons, a tree branch, lots of leaves, and even a beehive!
