Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Changing Seasons

Welcome to the October 2024 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices mentioned are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Changing Seasons! My projects once again feature the Halloween Spells 12"x12" Designer Series paper from the September 2024 Scrapbooking Brochure!

Time got away from me again, and on top of that, my internet went out for a while this morning. So, my first picture is just going to be a Sneak Peek of the cards I am finishing as part of a set that I showed you a card from in my previous post HERE. I'll come back in just a little while to show you the finished cards, with some better pictures!

So here are all FOUR finished cards in my set of cards...sorry to take so long, I got like no sleep on Thursday night for some reason, so after I managed to post the Sneak Peek cards on Friday, I pretty much crashed. I went to bed early last night and slept like 11 hours - thank goodness. I seriously needed it. These cards are pretty simple, but it's amazing how hard they are to get finished on no sleep! The cards follow a pattern I really love to use with 12"x12" Designer Series Paper, which is to cut each sheet in 3"x4" pieces, layer a front/back design in a caddywompus fashion, then add twine or ribbon, and add a little image opposite the bow or knot, put a greeting on the opposite side of the card as the cut out image, and finally - add some kind of embellishment (3 of them). For some card sets I make like this, I might alternate different colors of cardstock for the card bases, but I wanted to keep the supplies limited so I just used Smoky Slate Cardstock for all of them.

Anyway, I did make some slight changes to the Sneak Peek cards with the bird on them, because I felt like he needed to be standing on something. I didn't want to have too much white showing up, so I stamped both the cauldron, and the books, on my Smoky Slate Cardstock with my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad. Then I colored over them using the same Stampin' Blends colors I was already using, and had listed in the supplies. One teeny thing I did add, is the Clear Wink of Stella, which basically adds some glimmer. I added it to the cats' eyes, and to the birds' beaks and legs/feet. Oh, and also a little to the cauldron as a finishing touch.

Stampin' Supplies: Potions & Spells BUNDLE (stamp set + coordinating dies*), Halloween Spells 12"x12" Designer Series Paper, Smoky Slate Cardstock, Basic White Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Stampin' Blends Combo Packs (Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green), Stampin' Blends Color Lifter (optional), Iridescent Foil Gems, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy (for cleaning photopolymer stamps), and Grid Paper. Don't forget your Basic White Medium Envelopes if you want to mail your card. *You will need a die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies...they should all fit in the Mini machine.
