Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - NEW Holiday Products

Welcome to the September 2024 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices mentioned are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is NEW Holiday Products! We'll be sharing projects tied to the 2024 September-December (Holiday) Mini Catalog and/or our brand new September 2024 Scrapbooking Brochure
{you can find all Product Purchase Links below the Blog Roll near the bottom of the post}

I only just realized I shared these cards on Instagram, but never posted them on my blog - they are inspired from a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator exclusive event back in June, called Creativity Now. We were able to preorder the Nests of Winter Suite Collection (pictured below) before the event, and we got a supplies list of other items we would need, and a cutting guide for the cardstock and paper. I often like to do things differently, so I waited until I saw the actual project pictures, before cutting anything. The event projects used our Neutrals Color Collection, but I wasn't a fan of that so I used our Regals Color Collection. The event projects also used our Stampin' Blends, but I opted instead to use our Watercolor Pencils Asst 1.

Honestly, I wasn't super excited by the projects, because even though we could preorder the whole suite, there was also an option to order only the Bundle with the stamp set and coordinating dies. So, to ensure those who only ordered the Bundle could participate fully, the 3 main cards used *only* the stamp set and dies from the suite. I was working on the fly, during the event, but I did manage to change the designs enough to at least use the Nests of Winter 12x12 Designer Series Paper on all 3 of those main cards. The Scalloped Gift Card Box was an extra project we could make, and we smeared some copper Metallic Enamel Effects Basics on the top to give it an elegant background. Of course, I had to be a little different, so I added the metallic effects to the box flap, backed it with a little strip of Old Olive Cardstock, and then added a few strips of the Nests of Winter 12x12 Designer Series Paper around the box sides.

There was also an extra card we could make, and I changed that one only slightly.

Stampin' Supplies: Nests of Winter Suite Collection, Regals Collection Cardstock, Basic White Cardstock, Scalloped Gift Card Box, Metallic Enamel Effects Basics, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Watercolor Pencils Asst 1, VersaMark Ink Pad & Metallic Embossing Powder (copper), Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy (for cleaning photopolymer stamps), and Grid Paper. You will also want the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine for the dies - you'll need the standard sized machine.

We Create Blog Hop - Never Too Early

Welcome to the SEPTEMBER 2024 "Never Too Early" Blog Hop! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our theme will focus on things that are coming up soon, like the holidays! My project today once again features products from our most recent Online Exclusives release, and more specifically the Potions & Spells BUNDLE. {scroll down below the Blog Roll for ALL product purchase links}

I was thinking I would create a Christmas project, based on some of our NEW stuff coming out on September 4th, but I didn't get my supplies preordered early enough to do that. Plus, I love Halloween, and it sneaks up on me every year! And, speaking of "never too early", I should have started on this blog post a LOT earlier...because the past week was a bit of a mess, including getting a new fiber installation for our internet. I should have known that wouldn't go to plan!

I tried to keep my project simple since I'm late posting, but it does use the Potions & Spells Dies that coordinate with the stamp set. It's hard to see on the picture, but the cauldron is popped out a little bit. You can get that look by turning your die cut over onto our Silicone Craft Sheet, and rubbing with the wide end of the Bone Folder near the edges. You might want to use the pointy end of the Bone Folder across the rim, and on the feet. Then you can add a second layer of Stampin' Dimensionals in the middle of the back when you adhere it, so it sticks out a little more. The Iconic Celebrations 6"x6" Designer Series Paper really carries the background on this card. It's meant to be fireworks, but I think it also works well to give the look of bubbles popping.

Stampin' Supplies: Potions & Spells BUNDLE (stamp set + coordinating dies*), Basic Black Cardstock, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, Gorgeous Grape Cardstock and Ink Pad, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Iconic Celebrations Designer Series Paper, Blending Brushes, Iridescent Foil Gems, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Silicone Craft Sheet, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy (for cleaning photopolymer stamps), and Grid Paper. Don't forget your Basic White Medium Envelopes if you want to mail your card. *You will need a die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies...they should all fit in the Mini machine.
