Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Last Minute Lucy

Welcome to the December 2024 Edition of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! You'll see projects in our hop from Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world--I'm in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: I can only sell to customers in the US, so any prices mentioned are in USD)

We generally hop the first Friday of each month, and our theme for today is Last Minute Lucy! My projects once again feature the Snowy Scenes 12"x12" Designer Series Paper from the 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog.

You may remember that in my POST from the other day, I mentioned that the holly/stripes sheets from the Snowy Scenes 12"x12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) were screaming 'boxes' to me. Well, this is the first of my designs! The box bottom and the belly band are made from Pool Party Cardstock, and the lid of the box is from this double-sided pattern in the DSP package:

I used the Snowy Wonder BUNDLE (stamp set + coordinating dies) to decorate the belly band. Creating a belly band for packaging means it can be reused, because you just slide the belly band off to open it. You don't have to watch your carefully designed container being slaughtered as the recipient opens their gift. LOL. You just need to be sure you are adhering all your elements to the surface of the belly band so the belly band can actually move as one piece.

Stampin' Supplies: Snowy Wonder BUNDLE (stamp set + coordinating dies), Basic White Cardstock, Pool Party Cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad, Poppy Parade Ink Pad, Garden Green Ink Pad, Watercolor Pencils Assortment #1, Snowy Scenes 12"x12" Designer Series Paper, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy (for cleaning photopolymer stamps), and Grid Paper. *You will need a die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies.

We Create Blog Hop - Holiday Fun

Welcome to the DECEMBER 2024 "Holiday Fun" Blog Hop! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our theme will focus on anything to do with Holiday (or December) Fun! My project features the Snowy Scenes 12"x12" Designer Series Paper from the 2024 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog. {scroll down below the Blog Roll for ALL product purchase links}

I once again wanted to showcase my 3"x4" Layered Designer Series Paper Cards, because it's an easy template to help you create cards quickly, without a bunch of leftover scraps. The Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper is perfect for these cards because is has fun scenes on one side, and a more neutral or generic pattern on the other. Here is another picture zooming in on the card...though it's got a bit of a fuzzy vignette feel to it because I think my macro setting turned itself back on and focused on a random center point!

I only decided to use 4 double-sided designs from the Designer Series Paper for my cards, because I feel like the holly/stripe sheets are saying "boxes" (or rather, lids for cardstock boxes) to me. And I'm going to save the large snow globe sheets for cutting out with the Snowy Wonder Dies.

These cards would look beautiful with several different coordinating colors for the card bases, like Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Poppy Parade, and Pool Party, or even Coastal Cabana, but I wanted to keep the number of supplies low so I am going to use Crumb Cake Cardstock for all the card bases. I used the Poppy Parade Ink Pad for the greeting on my finished card, and the Pool Party Ink Pad to stamp some snowflakes on the card base. My thinking was that I would also use the Pool Party Ink Pad to stamp the Let It Snow greeting on a card using the snowmen pattern, and on a card using the smaller snowglobe pattern. That way I get a little more variety. I used the Pumpkin Pie from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment #1 for the penguin's beak and feet, and I can use it for the snowman's nose, too. You can see my plans below for how I want to layer the other designs I'll be using.

Don't forget your Basic White Medium Envelopes if you want to mail your card. *You will need a die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies.
