Hershey Kiss Holder

I don't often feature others' work on my blog, but I have to make an exception for this little gem! This is one of the swaps I received on Monday night, created by Angela Sylvester.

Angela had one copy of the pattern with her, and I took a photo of it so I could recreate the project at home. It's very simple, so I made some graphics to put up here on my blog, so you can make the project, too!

Start with a 6"x6" square of card stock, and score across diagonally from left top to right bottom, then right top to left bottom. Then measure in to the center (should be 3") and score from top to bottom at the center, and from left to right at the center. Your score lines should look similar to the graphic below.

Then score at 5/8" off the center line to the right corner and to the left corner. Do this at all four center lines. The graphic below shows what these offset score lines should look like. (the lighter lines are the score marks you made in the first step)

The graphic below shows all the lines you should have when scoring is complete.

Crease all 12 score lines with a bone folder. Punch a hole in each of the four corners (use the 1/8" hole punch on the Crop-a-Dile). Push in all 4 sides while bringing together the 4 corners. Thread 12" of ribbon through two holes, then punch a hole in your message banner and thread the banner onto the ribbon. Insert Hershey Kisses (3 fit in there quite comfortably, you may be able to fit more) and thread the ribbon through the remaining two holes of the square. Tie a bow and you're all done!

Design Notes: If you want to decorate your card stock, it's best to stamp on it before making your score lines. A Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel, such as Very Vintage (see the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog), makes quick work of the deed. On her sample, Angela appears to have stamped with White StazOn ink, onto Kraft card stock. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon, and the image used on the Very Vanilla card stock banner is from the stamp set With All My Heart, which coordinates wonderfully with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you can purchase to help out the folks in Haiti--see details HERE.
