We Create Blog Hop - All the Pretty Colors

Welcome to the JUNE 2024 "All the Pretty Colors" Blog Hop! We generally hop on the first day of every month, and this month our theme will focus on colors...could be a certain collection of colors, a color combo, or even a favorite color. My project today features one of the NEW 2024-2026 In Colors, which isn't actually new, it's a returning color - Pretty in Pink. {scroll down below the Blog Roll for ALL product purchase links}

I'm really not the froo-froo girly-girl type, but I am so excited that Pretty In Pink is back in our color lineup. We have been missing a true pink for quite a while. I know a lot of people love pink and gray together, but one of my favorite pairings with Pretty in Pink is Crumb Cake. I used the Lovely & Sweet Stamp Set with the coordinating Lovely & Sweet Dies (which include the tab and the tag you see on this card), as well as the Perennial Postage Dies (seen below), to create this postal look - which seems to be coming back into vogue in paper crafting.

The Perennial Postage Dies include various sizes of "postage" edged pieces. I used the positive cuts from Basic White Cardstock for my card, stamped on them using the Pecan Pie Ink Pad, and used Sponge Daubers and the Pecan Pie Ink Pad to color the edges. Alternatively, you could arrange some of the dies on a card front sized piece of card stock or acetate, and create your own sponging mask to get this kind of look instead. I used another Sponge Dauber to gently sponge over the names of each plant, using the Pretty in Pink Ink Pad, to highlight them. I also used the Pretty in Pink Ink Pad for the word 'love' in the greeting. (Even though they are shown in the picture, I didn't use the Pretty in Pink marker or ribbon on this card. They are just for visual effect!)

Stampin' Supplies: Lovely & Sweet Cling Stamp Set (plus acrylic blocks if you need them), Lovely & Sweet Dies*, Perennial Postage Dies*, Basic White Cardstock, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Pecan Pie Cardstock and Ink Pad, Pretty in Pink Cardstock and Ink Pad, Sponge Daubers, Linen Thread, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems (I used some of the Pretty in Pink ones at the center of the small die cut flowers), Paper Snips (for cutting thread), Bone Folder (optional, to burnish score lines), Paper Trimmer, Grid Paper, Stampin' Scrub & Stampin' Mist (to clean red rubber stamps). *You will need a die-cutting machine, like the Stampin' Cut & Emboss, to use the dies - the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss will do fine for this project. And don't forget Basic White Medium Envelopes if you are going to mail your card!

  1. I love the color pairing you selected for your card. Pretty in Pink and Crumb Cake go so well together. Very pretty!
