I was going to share a little treat container idea that I wasn't able to share for Halloween due to feeling awful, but I think I'm going to save that to post when I can get a quick video done for you. So, today's project is going to be what's called a Slimline Card.
This type of card is longer and narrower than the cards I usually make, and it's designed to fit in those good old #10 Envelopes that your mom or grandma probably have lying around their house from back in the day when people actually wrote and sent letters! Lol. I know I have a huge box full of those puppies that I bought years and years ago from a warehouse store. Stampin' Up! does not carry #10 Envelopes, so...seriously...ask your family if they have some to give you, and you might be helping them to declutter! The inside of my #10 Envelopes have a "security" lining printed inside, which I think is ugly, so I added some color to a piece of scrap copy paper and created my own liner.
I'm generally fairly conservative about decorating envelopes, especially if I'm going to mail them, because the envelope tends to get dirty, and even torn. But the #10 Envelopes are basically the only reason Slimline Cards came to be a "thing" so I'm going to decorate that darn thing! TIP: If you do decide to mail a decorated envelope, find a white/clear candle, and rub it over the entire surface of the decorated area, and the address, BEFORE you place a stamp on it. This will help at least seal it so the ink is not as likely to smear. You could always buy a spray fixative, but this will save you some bucks if you have candles lying around.
