A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop - Back in Plaid

This month is our EIGHTH #APaperPumpkinThing Blog Hop. Our kit this month is called Back in Plaid, as it was the second kit in the Season of Style series, with a plaid theme. It came with supplies to make 10 adorable cloth stockings into little gift bags. Once again, I tried to stick closely to the Paper Pumpkin kit supplies, and all I added was some Pool Party card stock, and a couple of gold Metallic Snowflakes.

As a quick comparison, you can see my projects from last month's kit, Pining for Plaid, in the picture below. I added Soft Sky Classic Weave Ribbon to those projects...I just love BLUE, what can I say??

Going back to this month's projects, below is a closer look at the card by itself. I used the stamp set that came with the kit, for the greeting and the snowflakes in the background. I stamped the greeting at full strength with the mini Dapper Denim ink pad that came with the kit, but I stamped off the snowflakes once before stamping them on the card, so they'd be just a little bit lighter.

Again, I used the stamp set from the kit to decorate the stocking and the tag below. Both are stamped in full strength, the stocking images just look a little bit lighter because they are stamped on fabric. I cut off the black and white plaid cuff from the stocking, and tucked some of the tissue paper that comes in the Paper Pumpkin kit box, down into the stocking. Then I turned over the edge, to look like a cuff..

I used my Paper Snips to trim some of the excess photopolymer away from the edges of the snowflake image, as you can see below, before stamping the stocking. I was accidentally catching ink on the sides of the stamp, and it would have transferred onto the stocking when stamping because the stocking is an uneven surface, especially around the edges/seams.

Stampin' Supplies: November 2017 Back in Plaid Paper Pumpkin Kit, Pool Party Card Stock, Metallic Foil Snowflakes (gold), Stampin' Trimmer (for trimming and scoring), Paper Snips, SNAIL Adhesive, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (to adhere the tags to the snowflakes).

The Back in Plaid kit will not be offered later in refills, it will only be offered as a full kit, and it is not slated to be available for several weeks yet. However, you can still grab other goodies the on the PAST KITS page in my Online Store. There are some full Kits, but many are Refills which include the consumables only, meaning everything but the stamp set & ink pad. 1. I added blue to my alternate card too and focused on the snowflake! We were on the same page.
