Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop: Color Challenge

Welcome again to the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, that runs the first Friday of every month! You'll see projects from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world in this blog hop. My name is Kimberley Morris, and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA).

This month we have a color challenge to work with, you can see the swatches in the graphic below. Our colors for this challenge are So Saffron, Rose Red, and Wild Wasabi. These colors really scream out "Easter" to me, but I'm going to see if I can make a Valentine's card with them!

I've decided to feature the Basket Bunch photopolymer stamp set, along with the Basket Builder Framelits Dies. You can get these items together as the Basket Bunch BUNDLE, and SAVE 10%. This is a double challenge for me, to use what look like Easter colors to me, WITH an Easter themed stamp set, to make a Valentine's card :-D I'm also using the Suite Sentiments stamp set, available in wood-mount or clear-mount, which also has some Easter greetings in it, but I'm using the 'love is in the air mail' sentiment for this card! Yes, I fussy fu@*y cut those little hearts out from the stamped sentiment.

This is a super easy card, the only color (aside from white) that I added that was not in the color lineup was the Basic Gray Archival ink pad for the outline of the little birdies. And technically, the Watercolor Pencils have only one yellow--Daffodil Delight--but that's close enough to So Saffron that I'm saying it doesn't count ;-) By the way, the Watercolor Pencils went into backorder for a short time, and a shipment came in so they are orderable again RIGHT NOW, and expected to go on backorder again quickly...so RUN over to my Online Store and get them while you can!!! Don't forget to grab at least one pack of Blender Pens with them.

Stampin' Supplies: Basket Bunch BUNDLE (Basket Bunch stamp set + Basket Builder Framelits), Suite Sentiments stamp set, So Saffron card stock/ink pad (or you could use VersaMark), Rose Red card stock/ink pad/marker, Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad, Wild Wasabi card stock, Whisper White card stock, Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Paper Snips, Stampin' Dimensionals, Fast Fuse, Stampin' Trimmer.

I really didn't see those cute little birds at first sight in the stampset (mostly saw the Easter bunny), but I love them...they're so cute! :-)
