Sort of TBT with Number of Years

I wanted to quickly share a few cards I made yesterday with a new stamping friend :-D While you can still purchase the Number of Years stamp set and coordinating Large Numbers Framelits, the Designer Series Papers and ribbons/twine on the following cards are retired from the recent 2016 Occasions catalog. I don't like to get you all excited about stuff I can't sell you anymore, but all the inks and card stocks and punches and stuff I used are still available, so I think you can still at least use these layout ideas:

Oh, and in the new 2016-17 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog, you can get an alphabet in the same style--Letters for You stamp set--and a coordinating set of Large Letters Framelits! {TIP: buy the Letters for You BUNDLE and get both the stamp set AND the framelits at 10% OFF!}

By the way, these cards were inspired by designs from other demonstrators...my new stamping friend's daughter sent me pictures of a few cards she made with a demonstrator on the East Coast, and she asked if I could make them here in Colorado Springs with her mom. It was a fun way to spend a few hours, and to christen my as yet uninked Number of Years stamp set!

P.S.: I tried a little different setup for my photos on this post...
leave a comment and tell me if you like the cleaner look!

You Light Up My Life with Fireflies!

I participated in a color challenge over the weekend, we could ONLY use the colors Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, (those are all included in the 2016-18 In Color Collection) and also Basic Black and Whisper White. I interpreted Whisper White to include our Shimmery White card stock, and used that for my card:

I used only the Jar of Love stamp set on this card, without even using any of the jars! I didn't use the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits on this card, but did you know you can get those in a BUNDLE with the stamp set for 10% OFF? Check out all the stamps you get in the stamp set alone...

To get the top and bottom wash on my card, I used an Aquapainter and some ink that I squeezed onto the lids of my ink pads. The Shimmery White card stock is not meant for watercolor, so I dabbed my first layer of washes with a paper towel to get most of the moisture off, then swiped a few streaks more of concentrated ink over the top to give it a little more depth. Then I used my Heat Tool on setting 1, to dry the Shimmery White card stock so I could stamp the rest.

I accented the firefly wings with Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, and dabbed over the glow of the firefly with Clear Wink of Stella. Sometimes, it's hard to get a good picture of glittery, shimmery stuff, and I think this card looks way cooler in person :-) And finally, I ran the card base through the Big Shot with our new Seaside Embossing Folder...very subtle texture, since most of it's covered, but I think it was a good add. What would you make if you could only use these colors (plus black and white)?

Online ONLY Monthly Release Photopolymer Stamp Sets

As a follow up to my POST earlier this morning, I'd like to share a list of the Monthly Release Photopolymer stamps that are still available for order, as of today. With the exception of two sets, these are not currently found in any catalog, nor is there a category in the Online Store where you can easily find them...so I've rounded them all up for you nice and neat! There are some real GOODIES in here, so I'd encourage you to click through and see which ones tickle your fancy, because these have always been for sale only while supplies last.

Again, these are not all 30 of the sets made available, these are just the 20 sets you can still buy right now. Two of the stamp sets from the Monthly Release Photopolymer line are in the current 2016-17 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog. They are:

Endless Birthday Wishes (find it on page 22 of the catalog), and
Better Than Email (find it on page 157 of the catalog)

July Step It Up Blog Hop - Just Kidding (not kidding!)

Welcome to the July 2016 Edition of the We Create Bloggers Step It Up Blog Hop! The idea is to inspire stampers with a basic design, and at least one alternate "stepped up" version of that same design. My family doesn't usually do anything special for the 4th of July, so I decided to pull out a random stamp set instead of going for stars and stripes. I grabbed the Just Kidding stamp set, and you won't find it in the current catalog...but it's still available (just click on that link). I kid you not, I'm being serious now!

The Just Kidding stamp set actually came out as part of Stampin' Up!'s trial period of photopolymer stamps they started in 2013. I think this was actually the last individual "online only" monthly photopolymer stamp set they released, March of 2015. And you can still get your grimy mitts creative hands on it if you click this link: Just Kidding stamp set

Stampin' Supplies: Just Kidding stamp set, Playful Backgrounds stamp set, Pool Party card stock & ink, Island Indigo card stock & ink, StazOn Jet Black ink, Chocolate Chip ink, Blushing Bride ink, Blender Pens, Real Red marker, Affectionately Yours Washi Tape, Copper Thread, VersaMark ink pad (bubbles on stepped up card).
