Ghirardelli Square Holders - Great Stocking Stuffers

Just a couple quick projects I made...these make super cute co-worker gifts, or stocking stuffers. They are based on a pattern I shared years ago, you can find the basic dimensions and instructions at THIS POST.

The one on the left features the Decorative Label Punch, with a layering technique I shared in THIS POST. In both versions, the Ghirardelli Square slides right in, or out, of the holder, so the treat can be consumed and the cute holder can then get refilled and regifted! But, you can "lock" the Ghirardelli square in place more securely with a glue dot behind it if you need a safety measure to keep from eating all the chocolate yourself ;-)

Stampin' Supplies for Merry Christmas Treat Holder: Project Life Hello December 2015 stamp set, Very Vanilla card stock, Mossy Meadow card stock and ink, Cherry Cobbler ink, Gold Metallic Foil Sheets, Word Window Punch, Very Vanilla Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon, Gold Cord Trim, Gold Sequin Trim, 1/4" Hole Punch (for ribbon).

Stampin' Supplies for Reindeer Treat Holder: Santa's Gifts stamp set, Very Vanilla card stock, Mossy Meadow card stock and ink, Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink, Chocolate Chip ink, Chalk Marker, Basic Black Marker (to darken eye), Smoky Slate Marker (for hooves), Word Window Punch, Washi Tape Punch, Mossy Meadow Striped Cotton Ribbon, Linen Thread, 1/16" hole punch, 1/4" Hole Punch (for ribbon), Basic Rhinestone (for nose...colored with red Sharpie marker). {I used some third-party specialty dies to cut out the deer and scarf...they are unavailable for purchase at the moment}

You can shop for these supplies in my ONLINE STORE. Some of them are discounted in the Year-End SALE, which runs through January 4th, or while supplies last. If you have any trouble finding what you are looking for, drop me an email and I can confirm whether or not it's sold out.

Holiday Treat Bags & Boxes Video Tutorial + GIVEAWAY

First things first, I have ONE extra Mistletoe and Holly Paper Pumpkin to GIVE AWAY! GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. If you want to be in the running, you'll need to leave a comment below, no later than December 15th at 11:59pm MT. A random winner will be chosen, and must be reachable on December 16th so I can get this in the mail to you ASAP. Just for kicks and content, you'll need to tell me in your comment whether you think you'd make the cards with the kit if you won it, or the bags and boxes! And, my blog doesn't store your email address, so you MUST leave yours in your comment, but PLEASE type it out like this: procrastistamper at gmail dot com (I remove the contest comments after the deadline, so your info won't be hanging out there on the interwebs) **I also moderate my comments, so please enter only once...your comment will show up later if it's not spammy**

Just to be clear, the boxes and bag in the video tutorial below are put together using supplies from the Paper Pumpkin kit I'm giving away, but you can make them with any card stock or standard envelopes! YAYYYYY!!! If you don't need to see any of the "decoration" parts, the directions and assembly for the box start at 01:40, and for the bag, they start at 20:18. There's a bit of blabber in between there about specific details regarding using the Paper Pumpkin kit supplies, but you can just skip over if you are in a hurry and don't find it utterly fascinating ;-) {p.s.: if you are reading this blog post in email, you may have a blank area below for the video...just click on the title of the blog post to read it online and watch the embedded video!}

Stampin' Up! Year-End Sale: December 10th - January 4th

Click Image to SHOP and SAVE NOW!!!

Stampin' Up!'s Year-End SALE with discounts UP TO 60% OFF debuts today (December 10th) and runs through January 4th, 2016 or while supplies last! Everything from the Clearance Rack is included in the Year-End SALE, and it also includes select Holiday Retiring Products at up to 40% OFF!!! Don't panic if you don't see a separate listing for the Clearance Rack and the discounted Holiday Retiring Products in the store right now...ALL those items have been integrated into the Year-End SALE category.

If you'd like to receive BONUS GIFTS from me personally, use the Hostess Code KQDQCVC6 on your ONLINE ORDER  with me through December 30th, 2015. {Bonus Gifts are chosen at my discretion, and may include supplies, or completed projects, or a mix of both, and gifts may vary from customer to customer.}

Please notice that these sale items are available while supplies last ONLY. I'd suggest you SHOP MY ONLINE STORE ASAP, and pick the items you want before they are GONE! There are TONS of great holiday items you can use to make cards, tags, decorations, etc. However, if you've not yet started on those items, you may want to consider choosing EXPEDITED SHIPPING on your order. Standard shipping is UPS Ground, and at this time of year, those packages tend to be subject a lot of "rescheduled delivery" bumping. When you choose Next Day or even 2nd Day shipping by 11am MT in my ONLINE STORE, your product is picked and packed and shipped out that same day.

Don't forget that Stampin' Up!'s Weekly Deals are also available during the Year-End SALE. This week, you'll find the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks, Iced Rhinestone Embellishments, and the Precision Base Plate for the Sizzix Big Shot, on SALE.

November 2015 Paper Pumpkin: Mistletoe & Holly

Below you'll find a couple of fun alternate projects I made with Stampin' Up!'s November 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Mistletoe & Holly. If you look at the instruction brochure in the center back, you'll see the kit was to make 5 each of 2 different cards. Using the same supplies, and an extra tool or two, you might instead choose to make 5 each of the two boxes shown in the foreground, plus 5 of the bags shown at center front.

The little boxes will perfectly hold three Lindt Lindor Truffles! (have you tried the new caramel ones? nom nom nom nom nom!!!) And I don't have any Ghirardelli Squares at home with me right now, but I bet you could stack three of those in there, instead. The boxes stay closed with friction, so there's no need for any fancy fastening doo-dads.

UPDATE: I made a quick video showing how to create the boxes and the bags, you can see it embedded below, or watch it on YouTube HERE.

Unfortunately, this Paper Pumpkin kit is SOLD OUT! But if you didn't grab a kit or refill for yourself, don't run off just yet!!! I'll be posting a short video (as soon as I can get some replacement bulbs for my lighting) showing you how you can make the boxes and bags--and you can use the same measurements to make these projects out of your own supplies. And I happen to have purchased an extra kit that might want to be offered up for a GIVEAWAY! Just sayin'.

In the meantime, you might want to go get yourself signed for a monthly subscription at my Paper Pumpkin Page no later than 11:59pm MT December 10th, so you don't miss the next amazing kit!

You can also purchase a Prepaid Paper Pumpkin Subscription, where you pay for the term of subscription you want, then you just go enter your promo code on my Paper Pumpkin Page to get delivery started. The Prepaid Subscriptions are super easy to GIFT, because you can pay for them yourself and just pass the promo code to the recipient! This is the kind of gift that makes memories. I still smile when I think of how my Grandma would renew a subscription for Reader's Digest for me every Christmas. I got to think of her every month when it arrived, and every time I pulled an old one off the shelf to look at again :-)

2015 Holiday Catalog Retiring List! (Many While Supplies Last)

CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW RETIRING STOCK ONLINE or SHOP NOW!

Yes, I totally understand that many of you haven't yet decided what you're going to make for your Christmas card this year, and here I am flaunting that scary word "retiring". It's okay--BREATHE :-)

Here are the quick and important tidbits:
  • Retiring Products will ALL be gone for good after January 4th, 2015*
  • Tools, embellishments, preprinted stuff, and other supplies are while supplies last
  • STAMPS are guaranteed for production on orders placed through December 28th
*Remaining retired stock may appear on the Clearance Rack at a later date.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW, OR RIGHT-CLICK TO DOWNLOAD RETIRING LIST(S):
PDF 2015 Holiday Retiring List
Excel 2015 Holiday Retiring List

Now, all that said...if you don't SHOP NOW and grab what you want before it's gone, don't say I didn't warn you! ;-) HOWEVER, I feel I should take a moment to point out that for the last couple or few years, Stampin' Up! has offered an Online Extravaganza promotion during the week around Thanksgiving, featuring specific BONUS specials on Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. I do NOT have any information on this sale for this year, but I also have not heard that Stampin' Up! will NOT be having it...so keep your eyes, ears, and email notifications out for the official details on this. To be clear, I am NOT recommending you wait to buy something you want that's on the retiring list, because there is no guarantee it will go on sale. What I *am* saying, is that if you have not yet designed your holiday cards, decor, or handcrafted gifts or packaging projects, and if you are flexible with what those might look like...then it might be a better choice for you to wait a few days and see what you can grab on sale, IF there is a sale :-)

Another word of advice for the Bargain Shoppers: if you are ready to SHOP NOW to grab the retiring stuff you want TODAY, before it's gone, do yourself a favor and stop by the Clearance Rack and Weekly Deals section of my Online Store before you check out!

When Cats Critique Christmas Cards

I was just minding my own business, setting up to take a picture of card to show you, and my cat Gizmo decided to be a smartypants (or smartytail, or whatever). She normally hates pictures, and turns away from them...but no matter how close I'd put the camera to her, she would NOT move out of my way! So, you get to see what an adorable, furry, twerp she can be. I could swear she's saying in this picture, "You call this a card?!? Really??"

Actually, this was a tag that demonstrators got to make several months ago at a Stampin' Up! event, before the 2015 Holiday Catalog even came out. It features the Home for Christmas Suite of products. I don't usually have much use for tags, so I just adhered the whole thing to a card front I stamped with the Hardwood background stamp (available in wood-mount or clear-mount). Here's a shot of just the card--it's not super great quality because I had to put it up higher on a kitty-free shelf, and snap it quick, before kitty got beligerent. Again.

Stampin' Supplies: Cozy Christmas stamp set, Hardwood background stamp, Pear Pizzazz card stock & ink, Very Vanilla card stock, Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper, Home for Christmas Designer Buttons, Very Vanilla 1-1/4" Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon, Old Olive Baker's Twine, Handheld Stapler.

DISCLAIMER: I can't guarantee you'll get a kitty showing up if you make this card, but your chances do appear to increase if you make the card, and THEN try to take a picture of it!

Foxy Birthday Greetings

Thankful Forest Friends stamp set with Age Awareness stamp set greeting. Photo © Stampin' Up!

So...I totally was NOT going to buy the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set (available as shown, in Clear-Mount, and also in Wood-Mount), even though I thought the animals were super cute. I just didn't see using them with the greetings in that same stamp set enough this Fall to justify it. Leave it to Stampin' Up! to change my mind! You'd think that I'd have realized I can use the animals separately, after all, I have been doing this for over 21 years now. And I thought I'd better share this, because if I wasn't thinking outside of the [stamp set] box, to imagine such an adorable birthday card, maybe you weren't either!

Stampin' Supplies: (this is speculation since I didn't make this card) Thankful Forest Friends stamp set, Age Awareness stamp set, Mint Macaron card stock, Whisper White card stock, Tangerine Tango ink and card stock, Night of Navy ink and card stock, Versamark (or Mint Macaron) ink pad for animals in background, Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape, Tangerine Tango Baker's Twine (retired - maybe sub Basic Gray Baker's Twine, or Silver Metallic Thread.

Are you giving this stamp set a second thought, too??
Go ahead, get it in my ONLINE STORE today!

Meowl-o-ween Happy Scenes and A Wicked Night!

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted any samples, hasn't it?! Well, I have decided to do more of what makes me happy, and in that spirit, here are some cards I made in honor of one of my favorite holidays...HALLOWEEN! You may have seen the first one on the Stampin' Up! Blog, and I found the idea for the second one on Pinterest and tweaked it a little:

Stampin' Supplies for Meolw-o-ween Card: Happy Scenes stamp set + Hearth & Home Framelits (avail separately or as a BUNDLE at 15% Off!), Festive Fireside Framelits (also available in a BUNDLE at 15% Off with Festive Fireplace stamp set), Basic Black Archival Ink Pad, Blender Pens + Tangelo Twist ink (to color window scene), Basic Black card stock, Crumb Cake card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Happy Haunting Washi Tape (adhere to Vanilla card stock and cut out with mantle/windowsill framelit), Brights Sequin Assortment (1 yellow circle, 1 orange circle), Gold Cording Trim, Spider Doily for display accent. TIP: the kitty framelit has a little bump to accommodate the whiskers on the coordinating stamp, which may look odd if you cut out a silhouette with no stamped image...you can get a smoother outline by carefully trimming away that bump, as I have done on my card.

Stampin' Supplies for Wicked Night Card: Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015 stamp set, Hello Honey card stock and ink, Whisper White card stock, Basic Black card stock, Basic Black Archival ink pad, Craft White ink pad, Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper, Black Glimmer Paper, Black Stitched Satin Ribbon, Curvy Corner Trio Punch, Spider Doily for display accent.

Don't be put off by the fact that Halloween is almost upon us...the stamps sets and framelits will take you through the rest of the holiday season with ease and creativity!

May Paper Pumpkin Deadline and 24 HOUR FLASH SALE!

URGENT: NEW* Paper Pumpkin Subscribers can get the MAY 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit delivered to your door for ONLY $5!!! (regularly $19.95) Enter Promo Code 24HOURS, along with valid payment and delivery information, to take advantage of this offer.
Offer valid ONLY through Saturday, May 9th, 2015 at 6:50pm MT.
(*NEW Paper Pumpkin Subscribers are qualified by a unique email address used for sign up, which has never taken delivery of a Paper Pumpkin Kit.)

Normally the contents of the kit are a surprise, but we got a little Sneak Peek of the May kit...it contains 4 Gift Bags + 6 Cards & Envelopes, as well as the embellishments, stamps, and ink, to complete the projects. The picture below is a snapshot from a live video you can watch HERE, showing the projects as designed for the kit, PLUS some adorable alternate ideas. The stamps in the kit include a birthday greeting, as well as a generic 'Celebrate' greeting, which would be ideal for upcoming graduations!

CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR PAPER PUMPKIN WITH ME!

(NOTE: you can order additional kits, but any beyond the first promotional $5 kit will be charged at the regular $19.95 price. If you want to order extra kits as Mother's Day gifts, please be aware that they will be delivered to the address you enter on your subscription. When you order through me (at that link above), I am happy to send you an electronic "card" you can print out and give, or forward in email, to the recipient tomorrow! Just email me to let me know you want it.)

Now that I've told you about this fabulous deal, let me explain that there is NO obligation with a Paper Pumpkin subscription. That means, you can take advantage of this $5 deal, and what you choose after that is TOTALLY up to you! You can Skip unlimited months on a subscription, or Cancel at any time. The only caveat is that you need to make sure you enter any changes for a given month, prior to the deadline of the 10th by 11:59pm MT, for them to take effect that month.

As a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you also have the privilege of purchasing Past Kits and Past Kit Refills. These are made available as stock allows, and while supplies last. Past Kits are entire kits, including stamps, ink, and all the consumables. Past Kit Refills include only the consumables. The only way to GUARANTEE you get multiples of a kit, is to add the quantity onto your monthly subscription. The subscription kits will ALL be full kits, with stamp, ink, and consumables. If you only want the consumables, you'll have to wait until the Past Kit Refills become available (*if* they do become available), and try to place your order to get yours before they run out. I'm explaining this in detail, specifically because the Sneak Peek for May's kit has created a lot of excitement, which makes me think that refills for this kit are likely to run out FAST!

Northern Flurry Christmas Card

As long as I'm in the mode of belated sharing, there are some cards from the holidays that I'd like to post. This one uses several products which are retiring for good after June 2nd, so if you click the link(s) and the product page does not show up, or search my Online Store and cannot find it, the item(s) may be sold out already. So sorry!

I made something like 24 different cards for last year's Christmas card classes, and so many of them are my "favorite" card...but if I had to pick just one card overall, it would be this one. There is such a simple elegance to the layout and color scheme, it seems universally pleasing. It features the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder (retiring) for texture, and the simple script of the Christmas greeting from the Petite Pairs stamp set (retiring, available in wood-mount or clear-mount).

Stampin' Supplies: Petite Pairs stamp set, Northern Flurry Embossing Folder (used with the Big Shot), Very Vanilla card stock, Soft Sky card stock, Crumb Cake card stock, Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon (retiring), Baked Brown Sugar ink pad (retiring - SOLD OUT; consider subbing Chocolate Chip or Early Espresso), Basic Pearls.

Belated Little Easter Chick (or Duck?)

I know this is running about a month behind...but, better late than never, right? This sweet little chick made the perfect greeting card for my college kids' care packages. This is yet another design idea I stole borrowed from Stampin' Connection, which is an exclusive free forum for sharing ideas that you can access once you Become a Demonstrator!

This card features the Owl Builder Punch. I trimmed the ear tufts off the top corners of the punched body, for the main piece. I also cut the feet from the body and punched another body out in orange, then stuck those orange feet behind the body shape. I saved one of the little yellow feet I cut off, to use as the feather tuft atop the chick's head. For the wings, I used the "vest" shape from the punch, and cut that in half. Then I tucked a half of the vest under each side of the body. For the nose/beak, I punched out the heart shape, but trimmed the top flat. The eyes were punched from black, but instead of trying to glue tiny white dots onto that, I simply used the White Gel Pen to mark them in place.

ALTERNATE IDEA: I think you could use this card for a new baby by making the chick into a duck. All you need to do is round the end of the beak, and then make the feet triangles (by trimming off the top of the heart shape from the punched image). You might want to slide the wings down a little bit, too.

Stampin' Supplies: Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (I recommend wood-mount, but it also comes in clear-mount), Kraft Notecards & Envelopes, Soft Sky card stock, So Saffron card stock, Wisteria Wonder card stock, Calypso Coral card stock, Basic Black card stock, Whisper White card stock, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, White Gel Pen, Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Basic Rhinestones, Owl Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower shape).

Snuggles and Smooches for Him and Her

Sometimes it's hard to get a touchy-feely look for both guys and gals with the same stamp set, without it looking effeminate, but I think Snuggles and Smooches does the trick. All I did was switch out the color palette, and it was a done deal.

And I LOVE how the big heart coordinates with the Sweetheart Punch, and the medium one coordinates with the the heart in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack--brings everything together so fast! Although this set was released just before Valentine's Day, it makes sweet cards for your cutie pies, any time of year! Check out all the images in the set:

The Snuggles and Smooches stamp set is available only in photopolymer (fabulous for easy image layering), so make sure you've got some Clear Blocks to use with it.

Stampin' Supplies: Snuggles and Smooches stamp set, Whisper White card stock, Tempting Turquoise ink pad & card stock, Soft Sky ink pad & card stock, Island Indigo ink pad, Melon Mambo ink pad & card stock, Pink Pirouette ink pad & card stock, Rose Red ink pad, Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sweetheart Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Guy Greetings: Happy Birthday Like a Sir!

When the Guy Greetings stamp set meets the Mustache Die, the monocle comes out...and I imagine if this card could talk, it would also have a stuffy British accent... (Note: the Mustache Die is retiring, and currently 50% OFF, so get yours NOW. If it doesn't come up when you click that link, it could be sold out already, sorry!)

I didn't even know this was a thing, but when I showed my daughter this card, she texted me back and said, "Like a Sir!". I thought she was just being naturally clever, but apparently she'd had a little help from the interwebs. "Like a Sir" comes from a meme I somehow missed, probably because I don't spend my life on tumblr. Hilariously enough, I made this card for my son...who plays Minecraft...and I found THIS "Like a Sir" parody when I was looking up the meme. So, for the inside of this card, I'll now have to write "Celebrate Like a Sir!". Ahhhh, synchronicity.

Stampin' Supplies: Guy Greetings stamp set, Mustache Die, Typeset Designer Series Paper, Vellum Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Transfer Adhesive Sheets (to attach vellum), Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad (of course, because a sir wears a tuxedo!), Ornate Tag Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1/8" Basic Black Tafetta Ribbon (different from the one shown), 1/8" Gold Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals.

By the way, the mustache and monocle design was not my original idea. It was shared by a fellow demonstrator, on a demonstrators-only gallery called Stampin' Connection, which is hosted by Stampin' Up!. Just another of the exclusive perks you can enjoy when you Become a Demonstrator!

Stampin' Up! 2015 Retiring Lists with Discounts up to 50% OFF

UPDATE: ordering demand for these products has caused some slowing on the Stampin' Up! web sites. Please be aware that currently, you may experience a slow shopping process in my Online Store.

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!
Check out the products that are retiring from Stampin' Up! this year:

There are a few things you may not realize at first glance, so let me make note of them for you here:
  • EVERYTHING MY DIGITAL STUDIO IS RETIRING...software, downloads, everything
  • Accessories, Tools, Embellishments, Pre-printed items, and the like, are ONLY available while supplies last (retiring inks, reinkers, and card stock are usually the first to go!)
  • Since Stampin' Up! manufactures their own stamp sets, these will be guaranteed availability through May 26th (new catalog debuts June 2nd)
  • Retiring items marked with ** on the list, denote that only certain parts of the item are retiring. You'll need to check the rest of the list to confirm. (i.e., a Bundle including stamps & dies may be listed as retired, but only the dies are retiring)
  • Please note that Basic Black and Basic Gray inks are listed as retiring, only because they will be returning in the new catalog in improved, archival formulations.

Stampin' Up!'s Butterflies Have Landed with a SPECIAL OFFER!

These pretties went on back order a long time ago, and then all the dock strikes happened, and the item number was pulled and unavailable for ordering. Sad face. Very sad face. But now, THEY'RE BACK!!! Not just coming, but HERE, and available for order!!! To celebrate, Stampin' Up! is offering two very special,
SPECIAL OFFERS, through April 30, 2015:

Order the Butterflies Thinlits Dies (shown above) at 15% OFF!!!

Order any Butterfly Basics Bundle* (already 15% OFF) and choose one
FREE item from the selection below:

Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (item 138633)
Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (item 138634)
Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 138635)

*The Bundles include the stamp set in your choice of wood-mount, clear-mount, or photopolymer (in English, French, or Spanish), and the coordinating
Butterflies Thinlits Dies.

Just for reference, the two larger dies stand alone, but the smallest butterfly die coordinates with the butterfly image in the stamp set, to make a perfect cut-out. There is also a smaller butterfly in the stamp set that can be punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. The circular date image can be punched out with the 3/4" Circle Punch, and the tiny solid flower image is perfectly framed by the round label in the Little Labels Punch Pack. And on a final note, if you ARE getting the coordinating stamp set, I recommend photopolymer for this one, because it makes layering the images SO much easier!
