Sale-a-Bration Feeling Sentimental Card Set in Folder

At first glance this FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set may seem sort of bland or boring, but Feeling Sentimental is actually incredibly versatile. Because the images are gender-neutral, you can use them over and over again with different colors for a different feel. Here is a simple set of cards (with envelopes) done in neutral colors in a coordinating folder:

UPDATE: Check out a Video Tutorial for this project HERE.

These are great to make and have around for yourself, or to give as a gift. Stay tuned for a quick tutorial video after the weekend. In the meantime, I've put together a group of supplies you can order, so you can make these (eight sets of six cards each, actually), and the total is just over $50 so you can get the Feeling Sentimental stamp set for FREE! This stamp set is exclusive to Sale-a-Bration, so be sure you finalize your order no later than 11:50pm MT on March 22nd. In fact, I recommend you place your order the day before, so you don't have to worry about experiencing web site delays due to the HUGE amount of purchases on the last day of Sale-a-Bration!

Stampin' Supplies you will ABSOLUTELY need:
Soft Suede Card Stock
Soft Suede Ink Pad
Sahara Sand Card Stock
Very Vanilla Card Stock
Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes
1st Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper
Stampin' Sponges
Choose the Feeling Sentimental Sale-a-Bration stamp set FREE!
(when your merchandise total is at least $50)

Stampin' Supplies I highly RECOMMEND*:
Stampin' Dimensionals or Mini Glue Dots (to raise your focal image)
Paper Snips (or similar sharp snips)
Stampin' Trimmer (this is the new one, it's SO way nicer than any other trimmer!)
Stamp-a-ma-jig (to ensure proper placement of images, avoid wasting card stock)
Choose FREE Vintage Verses stamp set when your order reaches another $50

*When you see the tutorial video, you will understand how much easier the specific tools I've listed above will make your project. Until then, just trust me--you're gonna kick yourself if you don't have them. When you earn a second FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set, Vintage Verses is the perfect choice, as it coordinates beautifully with Feeling Sentimental...as you'll see in my next blog post.

MY PERSONAL SALE-A-BRATION BONUS: If you purchase the list of supplies above that you'll ABSOLUTELY need, from my ONLINE STORE, you will have enough supplies to make 48 cards. However, your package of envelopes will only contain 40. When you spend at least $50 with me during Sale-a-Bration, I will mail you 8 additional Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes, plus 8 strips of Early Espresso Baker's Twine (to tie your folders closed) for FREE! This Bonus is not automatic, but all you need to do is email me after your purchase to request it :-)

I'm Back, with a Tier of Cupcakes Card!

Sorry I was gone for the last couple/few weeks, I thought I had my health issue under control, but it had other plans. It's on a come-and-go as it pleases sort of basis right now. Unfortunately, that makes blog posting consistency a bit of a challenge for me! However, my son turned 20 recently and I had an idea for a card that I just *had* to create and send to him:

The idea really did start in my own head, but I figured it wasn't original, so I used the Google and found the perfect pop-up template HERE. I used the PDF at actual size, but I did trim around the pattern to make a standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card (instead of a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card). I temporarily adhered my trimmed pattern on top of my 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Pool Party card stock, and cut and scored right through the copy paper printed pattern--pressing down hard to get the cuts and scores to transfer to the card stock properly. Then, I removed the pattern, creased the folds, and backed that with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Island Indigo card stock which I scored to fold in half.

I put a band around it (top pic) that just slides off, to keep it closed. The background on the front of the card is the Alhambra Jumbo Wheel, just rolled over the front a billion times at different angles. On the inside of the card, if you look at the side view (bottom pic) you should be able to see that I assembled the cupcakes first, then had to cut into and trim a side on the ones that were next to "steps". You totally can't even tell I did this when you just look at the card. Here's the text I got from my son: "WOW. Now that's a birthday card!". Needless to say, I was elated at his response :-D

Stampin' Supplies: Create a Cupcake stamp set, Cupcake Builder punch, Sassy Salutations stamp set, Letter It stamp set, Number It stamp set, Alhambra Jumbo Wheel & Handle, Island Indigo card stock & ink, Pool Party card stock & ink, Crumb Cake ink (frosting), Soft Suede ink (sprinkles), Whisper White card stock, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals (only for the 4U pieces on the band), Paper Snips. (I also used an Exacto & self-healing cutting mat for the pop-up pattern)
