LAST DAY to Order Retiring Items!

Just a last shout out to remind you that you can only order retiring Stampin' Up! product until 11:50pm Mountain Time tonight, June 30th. Go to my ONLINE STORE and check out the Last Chance sections.

On the human interest side, it's been ridiculous around here...our hot water heater got replaced earlier this month.  It was kind of a fiasco for several days, then the new one went in and worked for a while. Then it stopped heating the water, as the pilot light would get showered on with drips every time it started up. We got the plumber back out here and it seemed sort of fixed, but we kept having to manually re-light the pilot, more and more often each passing day. Finally, that brand new hot water heater gave out, I think it was yesterday morning. By the end of that LONG day we had another new water heater put in, and so far so good, knock on wood!

Nevertheless, I'm SUPER excited to get started with the NEW CATALOG tomorrow--ordering starts at NOON. I'll do my best to get all the relevant details up on my blog before then, so you can start filling in your new Wish List!

Ink Pad Labels - Color Collection Labels

With the impending release of the new Stampin' Up! catalog (July 1st, 2011), we'll have 5 new additions to our In Color collection. I made some labels for my ink pads a long time ago...you can see how I use them in the pictures below. Here is the updated file of color labels for the Stampin' Up! 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog:

Click HERE to download the label sheet (uses Avery 5160 label template).

I print out the labels, then cover them (a sticker maker provides a great thin laminate covering), and then punch each color name out with the Word Window Punch. Then peel and stick the label onto the end of the ink pad...and because of the laminate, you can just wipe the label clean if you smear ink on it! The color names are big and bold so you can easily see them across the table.

There are also some color collection names at the end of the sheet of labels, if you'd like to use them. You may find it handy to print out a second sheet of the color names and use those for the file tabs, containers, or shelves of your card stock. Below you'll see what I did with my In Color ink pads (and any extra pads I have lying around), and there's a basket on top of the two boxes with my acrylic blocks in it.

While I cannot sell you the ink pad rack I have, Stampin' Up! does offer one that rotates 360 degrees like mine, with four columns, each with 12 spaces for ink pads (to hold 48 total), called the Color Caddy. Unlike my behemoth, the Color Caddy only requires a 10" footprint to spin freely, and is about 16-1/2" tall. AND you can purchase an Extender Kit pictured on the right below, which will add 4 columns of 3 spaces each (12 more total), so you can add in all of your In Color ink pads and a few of your favorite Craft ink pads!

10 Days til Retirement +15% OFF Select Stamps

There are only 10 days left to get retiring Stampin' Up! product--some of it up to 40% OFF. Click HERE for full details on ALL retiring product.

In honor of their retirement, I am also personally offering 15% OFF the retiring stamps that I happen to own. Click HERE for the full list of my personal sale stamps. I have been featuring some of my personal sale stamp sets on my blog over the last few days, and today I have chosen the Tart & Tangy (stamp set pictured below).

Now, I'm gonna be honest with you, there is a stamp set in the upcoming new catalog which includes three out of four of the images in this retiring set (there's no citrus in the new set, if you get my drift). However, I personally think the Tart & Tangy stamp set's images are much cleaner and easier to use. So if you like fruit, you are what you eat. No, what I meant to say was if you like these fruity images, GET 'EM NOW...or at least by June 30th, before they're gone for good!

Below are a few samples of projects I've made with this set. Click on any of them to see the original post for more details, which may include supplies and/or instructions. And by the way, if you see some supplies mentioned in those posts that have already been retired in years past, be sure to search my ONLINE STORE because sometimes there's coordinating surplus product you'll find there!

Be sure to pick your way over to my ONLINE STORE, and shop for these and other stamp sets on the Last-Chance Lists.

2011 New In Colors - Color Collection Sampler Cards

Earlier today, I mentioned the new In Colors that you will be able to order from the catalog on July 1st.  As you may already be aware, every year there are 5 trendy colors (hence the name, In Colors) added to our repertoire. These trendy colors stay at least two years, so that the In Colors introduced in 2010 will be retired in 2012, and the new ones we are getting in 2011 will be retired in 2013, and so on. So, starting this year, we will have a selection of 10 In Colors to augment our 40 Core Colors every year :-)

I was trying to create a simple sampler, and ran across a 1/4 sheet system, but wanted something smaller. So, I came up with an eighth-sheet card system for not only the In Colors, but also the Core Color collections. Below is a picture of the all 5 sampler cards, and a shot of just the card featuring the new In Color Collection. Please remember that colors can be difficult to picture accurately on a computer screen [click either pic to see it full-size]:

NEW 2011 IN COLORS: POOL PARTY, CALYPSO CORAL, LUCKY LIMEADE, WISTERIA WONDER, and ISLAND INDIGO

Click HERE to download Color Collection Cards PDF
(cards only, no colors or product included)

The file above contains three pages. If you are only going to be printing out a set for your own personal use, you can just print out the first page. If you are a demonstrator and are mass producing sets for downline or customer use, you'll find pages 2 and 3 convenient for volume. TIP: Be sure you print these at 100%, which is the same as Page Scaling set to None.

The cards are set to be 4-1/4" wide by 2-3/4" tall, so that you can get 8 equal size cards from a letter sized sheet of card stock. I punched card stock using the Small Heart Punch, and it fits perfectly in each section! You can punch a hole in the top corner of each and put them all on a ring. And at this size, you can add them to the back of your Color Coach cards (which already include a ring). I want to stress that the Color Coach is an amazing tool for coordination, color comparison, and color combination, and the cards I've made have a different purpose--they display "real-life" product samples.

Sneak Peek Pennant Parade & Punch

I've been yakking about the retiring products every day because I haven't wanted you to miss out on getting something you want before it's gone. But I'd also like to take a moment to give you a little Sneak Peek of some cool upcoming new products:

Oooh, look at the pennants...aren't they so cute?? Notice the neighbor kids' playhouse behind the card? That just makes it even more fun!

This card features new products that you will be able to purchase July 1st. It includes the Pennant Parade stamp set, and the Petite Pennants Punch. The punch has two images on it--the scalloped pennant, as well as a smaller triangle, which I layered onto each scalloped pennant punch on this card. The pennant images in the Pennant Parade stamp set can be rotated to become Christmas trees, and there is even a little tree trunk stand you can stamp underneath. The set also includes several greetings, so you can use it for the holidays, and all year. The "wish big" greeting is perfect for birthdays!

There are also a couple of new In Colors featured on this card, namely Island Indigo (the teal color) and Pool Party (the lighter blue). I really like these colors together, and especially on a neutral background because they can be used for a guy or a girl. I'll post more about the upcoming new In Colors later, just keep in mind that pictures hardly do them justice. They are awesome in person :-)

And I want to point out the Early Espresso Baker's Twine stringing the pennants across the card--you can order that right now, and let me just say that I think we'll be seeing more of this twine throughout the year (hint, hint). To bring in a little coordination with the twine, I inked and sponged the "wish big" greeting with Early Espresso ink. The background of the card is my favorite neutral color that goes with everything: Crumb Cake.

Stampin' Up! Retiring Products

Until JUNE 30th or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, get your favorite Retiring Stampin' Up! products. And some of them are even DISCOUNTED UP TO 40% OFF!

Now, let me explain how this works...the wood and clear mount stamps and Definitely Decorative vinyl products are manufactured by Stampin' Up!, so you'll be able to purchase those items all the way through June 30th. However, Accessories will be sold WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, so you will need to shop for them in my ONLINE STORE to guarantee availability. (That's why there is no PDF for Accessories, because there's no way to mark them in real-time as they go out of stock!)  And one last note, please do not freak out when you see the 12x12 card stock in the retiring shopping sections--it is only the 6 smooth sheets, 6 textured sheets assortment package that is retiring, not the 12x12 size.

This is a HUGE deal--get 'em while they're hot...and get 'em before they're gone! I have seen the new catalog that starts JULY 1st, so I will help you out and point out a few specific stamps and/or sets that I think you may kick yourself for not getting, if you don't do it before June 30th...because there's not really anything similar coming into the new catalog:
STAY TUNED the rest of this month for special countdown posts, featuring specific stamp sets, and my own personal sale of 15% OFF SELECT STAMP SETS!!!

I Need a Shower.

Okay, so add to the list of recent challenges: water heater broke last night, I guess right around or just after dinner. We are currently renting, and as such, gratefully do NOT have to pay the ginormous bill for replacement--but we do have to wait until sometime tomorrow to get a new water heater installed. Gross, I need a shower. Sadly, both my kids need one worse than I.

So, we're off to partially fill a tub with cold water, use the tea kettle to add hot water until it's reasonably warm, then bathe and drain...times THREE...until Blake gets home, then it may be done a fourth time. In fact, I'll insist on a fourth time. I don't care if he's a grown man, he's taking a bath cuz I said so...lol! Yeah, this is bordering on TMI (too much information) but I figured it might provide you some amusement, since it's not affecting you!

Until I get back to post again, please check out my newly revamped ONLINE STORE for June specials and promotions, including retiring stamp sets, accessories, and decorative products that will be gone forever June 30th, some of which are available at a discount!  This is your Last Chance to snag some items you may have been eyeballing for a while now.
